Really cool place. Plenty of space and shade for hot days. They have the floating obstacle course and various things to do for kids. Good fishing on multiple ponds and its close to the river as well. More fun than a guy could shake a stick at and trust me, they've got sticks too.

I grew up coming to this place to go tent camping, and so much has changed. I don't recall the trains blasting their horns every hour, especially at night. You can feel the vibration from the train passing by at some sights. It's a great place to visit but not stay overnight due to the trains. Every interaction I had with staff treated me like I was committing some sort of crime!

Trains run about every hour so sleeping was challenging! No water at all spouts. Pretty lakes and nice to bike around.

The beach is really nice. The camping spots feel a bit close, but I'm used to backwoods camping. You need change to pay for a shower, this especially stinks because most people don't carry cash.

The lake/beach area is great for small kids as it is shallow pretty far out. There is a nice little store, somewhat expensive depending on what you need. The water playground is around $15 or $18 for 90 mins. Not worth it imo. The campsites are VERY close together. There are a couple areas where there is more space: 1-10, along the back (200s by train). These are walk up sites and don't show online. The tent sites were pretty nice looking, great for camping with a large group. There are only 6 full hook up sites, all online and always booked. Dump/fill station only has 2 stalls, expect a wait on Fridays and Sundays. Showers cost $1 for 3 mins, ridiculous. Especially when you're forced to be water conscious with no water hook up. There are trains, LOTS of trains coming by esp at night. Some sites are literally 6-10 ft from the tracks. If you are a light sleeper, this will wake you and shake/rumble tent/RV. Overall it is ok during the week, too crowded on the weekends and the kids on staff are not very helpful/don't give accurate info - talk to an adult. Pictures are of the "larger" sites.

I LOVE this State Recreation Facility! Lots of small, beautiful lakes to fish in and great roads to walk or bike around. They've recently added all kinds of fishing docks that are great for kids and adults to fish off of!

Nice and peaceful! Can hear the trains as they roll by. They are loud depending on where you are at, but relaxing at the same time. Beautiful lake to swim and play in. Fun for adults as well as kids!

This was a nice place to swim for a bit! Came here after the state park to swim and cool off. There is a small, nice roped off swimming area and small beach. Very family friendly. Also has good bathrooms, a small store, and a cool water park type feature. Would recommend coming here for an hour or 2 if you aren’t camping here and just looking for a place to swim. The entrance pass from the state park was also accepted here.
