Lyman KOA Journey

Warm days, cool nights and a view of the soaring Uinta Mountains make this quiet grassy meadow an inviting spot to camp.

Warm days, cool nights and a view of the soaring Uinta Mountains make this quiet, grassy campground an inviting spot to visit. And when you spend a night, you're joining a steady parade of travelers who've stopped here since mountain man Jim Bridger built his trading post along the Oregon and Mormon trails in 1843. The Lyman KOA is a short drive from the re-created post (some original buildings) of Fort Bridger State Historic Site. Visit Labor Day weekend to catch the Mountain Man Rendezvous, complete with black powder and buckskins. You'll find plenty of comforts at the camp-ground, including a pool, basketball, sand volleyball and a pet walk. When you're ready for more adventures, drive an hour east to 91-mile-long Flaming Gorge Reservoir for great boating and fishing plus hiking and biking along mountain trails. Pool: June 1 - September 9. Max pull thru: 75 feet. Your hosts: Clint, Clark and Mary Anderson.

We stayed here overnight on our way to Utah in early October. The campground was closed for the winter season but owner still allowed people to overnight for a Very reasonable price with all amenities except the store. We enjoyed wi-fi as well as a laundromat and water/ electric. There is a dump station and bathrooms with showers. Nice friendly owner

It is very quiet, staff was friendly and so helpful!! Smaller park but so clean and easily accessible from the freeway. We wish we could have spent more time here.

The deluxe cabins (~$118/night) are amazing! They are charming and rustic. They easily accommodate 4 adults but max. occupancy is 6. The grounds have much to offer including a swimming pool, basketball court, and volleyball court. I will absolutely be returning! Side note—the cabin is bring your own linens (e.g., pillows, blankets, towels).

The BEST KOA in WY. It's Always been a family Favorite, because it has Everything, With a Great Host Family. They have a Heated pool , Beautiful camping spots and a large bathroom to shower and change in. But the thing that makes this place unique is that they have the best gift shop you can find in the area. With the best selection of t-shirts and souvenirs. If you find your self in this area and need a place to Camp, This is the spot! Oh Yeah and a Classic old school playground 🥰👍🏿👍🏿

Update: stopped for an overnight again. This is such a great place. Friendly people, well cared for property and so nice and quiet. We had pancakes, coffee and were on the road after a good nights rest. Original review several weeks ago: Came in after hours for an overnight. Nice, quiet campground. Friendly, helpful and made sure we had a site when we arrived. Would recommend!
