My dog and I camped here in September and loved every minute of it! Beautiful sites with lots of elbow room and privacy. We had a waterside site but were still protected from the wind. Clean and safe. Highly recommend if you like falling asleep to the waves of Lake Huron and twinkling stars. Hot spot to set up a base camp and pick your hiking trips from there.

Beautiful state park and well taken care of. Tent and RV camping with water access. No electricity and outhouse style restroom. Nearby to Alpena for dining and grocery stores.

Some sites have paths that take you right out to Lake Huron. Sites 33 and 37 are pretty amazing! Lots of wood to easily collect. Many trails to check out. There were many sites available in September.

Its a rustic campground with pump water and vault toilets. $20 a night with 42 sites. The sunrise from the beach is priceless!

Go yearly and gets worse every year. We use to just have to pick up wrappers and drink bottles and this year we found 5-6 chunks of glass, cigarettes butts, and tons of poison ivy. Last year they didn’t fix one of the wells for the whole season till it closed for winter. And they will let the toilets fill with millions of flies before doing anything about it. Host is rude. Sites are dirty and no fun allowed.
