Mainprize Reg Park

Overview

Mainprize Regional Park serves as a centerpiece for outdoor recreation in Southeast Saskatchewan, situated beautifully along the banks of the Rafferty Reservoir. This destination has evolved from a local getaway into a comprehensive resort-style park that caters to seasonal residents and transient RVers alike. Visitors find a welcoming atmosphere defined by the expansive prairie sky and the refreshing waters of the lake, making it a staple for those exploring the province's hidden gems and seeking a sense of community.

Location & Surroundings

Located just south of Midale, SK, the park is conveniently positioned between the larger hubs of Weyburn and Estevan via Highway 39. The surrounding landscape features the rolling plains typical of the region, contrasted sharply by the blue expanse of the reservoir. The geography provides a peaceful buffer from highway noise, allowing campers to immerse themselves in a quiet environment where the natural prairie beauty and local wildlife are the primary attractions throughout the summer months.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped for modern RV travel, offering numerous sites with full hookup options including power, water, and sewer connections. One of the crown jewels of the facility is the Harbour View Golf Course, an 18-hole challenge that draws players from across the region. Other features include:

  • Modern washroom and shower facilities for guest comfort.
  • A public boat launch for easy reservoir access.
  • A sandy swimming beach and playgrounds for children.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Anglers flock to this area for the exceptional walleye and northern pike fishing found within the Rafferty Reservoir. Beyond the water, the park features a challenging frisbee golf course and several hiking trails that wind through the native grasslands. A short drive into the town of Midale allows visitors to explore local history, while the Mainprize beach area offers a perfect spot for afternoon picnics and social gatherings under the sun.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for active families and retirees who appreciate a blend of sport and relaxation. If you are an RVer who enjoys having a professional-grade golf course steps away from your rig, Mainprize is a perfect fit. It is also highly recommended for boating enthusiasts looking for easy water access. Whether you are staying for a weekend or the entire season, the park offers a community-focused environment that feels like a genuine home away from home.

Hidden gem of a golf course. Greens were great, great hole layout, great mix of challenging and fun & risk/reward type of holes. Would highly recommend. We stayed in the Bentwood Kabins, was great as it was a very short walk to the golf course and perfectly located.
