We stayed on site J3 and LOVED it. The water access is beautiful and the campground overall is quiet and well maintained. Only about a 5 min walk to the beach and the dairy bar! Unfortunately we had some issues encountering unleashed dogs of other campers (or Loon Lake general - unknown). 5 different dogs had approached ours (which were leashed/tied up constantly as per park rules) while we were staying there. One while I was walking around the campsite which ran up to us and kept trying to engage my dog on our walk (not recalling back to their owner), one large brown mixed breed and one medium sized white dog wandering throughout the weekend and going in and out of people’s sites, but our neighbours two pitbulls off leash entering our site and jumping at our two dogs drew the line for us. The park needs to reinforce this rule. It was very disappointing as we are super careful with other dogs around our two, which btw are an anxious older dog & our new 8 week old puppy… Mentioning this only because it may be a deal breaker for some with young kids or puppies alike. Regardless, we enjoyed the site and amenities a lot and will be coming back!

My favourite place to visit! A couple of great restaurants lakefront! Golfing and food down the road followed by more camping! I recommend this spot to all ages. Certainly see many families and retirees here. Bring your boat! Great place for water sports. Fishing is an option, but you might have to ask locals for the secret spots that only work at the right time of day. Lots of lakes to explore via kayak, canoe, or whatever else floats your boat 😉. Come check it out! The land of the living skies knows how to show off its nature in breathtaking ways. The locals are great!

Free fire wood. The water is decent. A little close to the highway but generally speaking it is quite nice.
