Mama Yeh RV Park

Overview

Mama Yeh RV Park offers a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere just north of the Prince George city center. Known for its lush, wooded setting, the park provides a peaceful retreat for travelers navigating the northern highways of British Columbia. It strikes a balance between a natural escape and the convenience of being near a major urban hub. Whether you are arriving from the south or heading toward the Alaska Highway, this park provides a soft landing with a personal touch that larger corporate parks often lack.

Location & Surroundings

Situated along the Hart Highway (Hwy 97), the park is tucked away from the main road to minimize traffic noise while remaining highly accessible for big rigs. The surrounding area is characterized by the rugged beauty of Northern BC, with towering evergreens and proximity to the Nechako and Fraser Rivers. It serves as an ideal basecamp for those exploring the regional parks or seeking a convenient stopover while traversing the scenic corridors of the province’s interior.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped for modern RVers, offering full hookup sites with options for 30 and 50 amp service to meet varying power needs. Visitors can expect spacious pull-thru sites that accommodate larger rigs with ease, along with essential facilities like clean showers, laundry services, and reliable Wi-Fi connectivity for those working on the road. The grounds are meticulously maintained by the friendly staff, ensuring a comfortable and clean environment for every guest during their stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While staying at the park, guests are just a short drive from the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum and the scenic Cottonwood Island Nature Park. For those interested in local history and pioneer life, the Huble Homestead Historic Site is a nearby must-visit attraction. Outdoor enthusiasts will also appreciate the numerous hiking and biking trails that wind through the surrounding boreal forests, offering a chance to spot local wildlife or enjoy the crisp northern air in the heart of the province.

Who This Park Is Best For

This location is perfect for long-haul travelers seeking a quiet, reliable place to rest during a multi-day journey through Northern British Columbia. It is also well-suited for families and retirees who appreciate a smaller, more intimate campground setting over a large-scale commercial resort. Its proximity to Prince George makes it an excellent choice for those who need easy access to city services, shopping, and dining while still wanting to wake up in a serene, forested environment that feels miles away from the hustle.

Not your typical RV parking lot! MamaYeh has spacious, private sites with plenty of trees between sites. Sweet playground and sandbox for the kids. All sites are full hookup. The proprietor is very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay again!

Highly recommend this campground. While it's still under development, and facilities are currently limited (portable toilets and no showers or laundry yet) it has full water, electric and sewer at clean, level sites. If you have an RV ready to live in this is a great place to stay. Close to town, you check in on your own after hours using a simple and easy email/text your payment method. A drop box is available at the gate to sign in. Starlink is available and is spotty in a couple of sites but works well everywhere. The owner Edward Yeh is kind, accessible and always looking for ways to help you out and improve your stay. His rates are the most reasonable around, and the sites are great with lots of room and trees between each site. Great for those travelling with dogs or kids. No photos, but definitely would go back again.

The owner Edward was so kind!! Very well kept, you can tell he has plans on extending and adding. It’s odd to see how many people were mad about having no showers or running toilets. It’s easy to tell who actually reviews the websites. Looking forward to staying here again!

Three huge problems: 1) no restrooms or showers, just outhouses. 2) our site was incredibly uneven and not close to level. My back tires were way off the ground. On the positive side, each space is very secluded and shaded plus picnic table was brand new and level! They’ve got a good start but need to level their sites and build washroom facilities!!

When we pulled in we were greeted by Edward, the owner. He was very pleasant, and excited to meet us. The girl in the office was also very nice. We pulled into our spot (#1), and were pleasantly surprised that it was nearly level. The easiest time we've had trying to level our coach. There are lots of mature trees surrounding each site, however, they are far enough away, and trimmed high enough so that we could easily put our slides out without scratching. We've had problems in other RV parks with the trees being too low, but not here. The site easily accomodated our 13.5 ft. high and 40 ft. long rig + toad. We didn't even have to unhook the toad. We didn't hook up to the water because of what other people have said, but we did use the 50-amp electric hookup. I'm a REALLY light sleeper, and I'm hearing the road noise a little bit, but it will probably be OK once I get my white noise started.
