It is very likely I got Lyme disease from this campground. There were ticks found and then I was diagnosed with Lyme disease slightly after. I was long sleeve and pants and socks at all times and still got this. Please be cautious. Caves were amazing, but not sure it was worth this diagnosis.

Due to government shutdown the caves were closed but the campground was open. We enjoyed the area with our next route to Pigeon Forge in mind. It was raining cats and dogs so mostly geared up and walked around and drove around the area. The Campground has clean and functional, flush toilets with lite up paths enve yhis time of the year (Halloween weekend). Worth stop if in the area.

This was a fantastic stop between Louisville and Nashville. Wooded with mature trees for shade. We are in an RV....2 spots have full hook up, some electric and some just offer a safe place to park and rest for $25. Huge park for exploring.

Was here for stargazing and camping, the overall experience was good. They let you check in early around 2PM and check out at 11AM. This is one of the three campgrounds available in the park, and this one is the largest of all (100+ campsites), and nearby the visitors center. There’re a lot of other activities to do like Cave tours, Hiking, etc. The campgrounds are well maintained and they also have restrooms in nearby vicinity which are well maintained. The parking and overall layout of campsite is well planned and spaced. The sites may be too close to one another but overall it is worth the experience. Even though the

Obviously there are no "rooms" when camping but every site has a paved driveway. The picnic tables are cement and the site is relatively big. I love the park itself but my complaints are (as a seasoned camper) 1) there are only 2 showers at the campground store (opposed to each camp loop bathroom) AND they are coin operated! I had no cash so there was no showering for me. 2) there is nowhere to swim. Add that to no shower, so we left after our cave tour. I would avoid long weekends. I felt that the loop bathrooms were pretty small given the size of the park. Bathrooms were mostly clean. Beware- park rangers are very active around the park enforcing traffic rules.

Spent 2 nights on a weekend here at the end of August. The weather was great and the campground was amazing. The sites offer a lot space between them. The bathrooms were. Very clean as well. You can easily walk to the visitor center and lodge for food and tours. The campground store was also great and offered many amenities including food.

Nicely located within the park. Easy access to restrooms, shower facilities, and the visitor center. Campsite 2,3 were wooded and okay. We didn’t care for 5 though. The campsite restrooms were nice and clean as were the shower facilities. Both could have been bigger but were fine.

My husband and I stayed here for one night. We stayed at a tent only site in Loop A. This little area is very nice and the bathrooms are very close. The showers are coin operated, which was fine, but they are in need of an upgrade. There is only a soap bar holder for a place to put things in the shower. Overall, it was a really good stay and we would stay here again!

My camping experience was very poor. My water faucet had a terrible leak around 2 gallons per minute. The pipe for the sewage connection was sticking out of the ground too far. I could not drain my tanks because it was uphill. I am not sure what size the sewer connection was (8 inches around maybe) but it was huge.. way bigger than my standard stinky slinky connection. When I complained to the campground about the water leaks and the loss of pressure they would not do anything. They said let it run out on the ground. Doing some rough math that would have been over 2,000 gallons of good water wasted and puddled around my RV. I ended up not using their water I pumped from my tanks that were full when I got there. The campsite right beside me stayed empty all night. Why didn't they move me to that one? There was heavy equipment working in the campground they started their loud diesel motors between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m.

Basic camping but convenient to the caves . Not busy at all during the off season on our RV trip south from Canada in in early winter . We always found an isolated spot so we could charge batteries for the night use of the furnace , without disturbing others .

Great for camping. No cell phone service. Miles of curvy roads and beautiful views. Quiet. With tons of deer. There is a camp store that will supply you with most basic needs (shower in the back) which ables me to pack lighter. Caves can be cool.. bring a long sleeve. Bathrooms are awesome for camping. All in all great experience. And great tours.

Stayed here during a trip to 7 different National Parks with my daughter. We were in the tent only loop. The site was rather large and equipped with fire ring and picnic table. The site was a little on the rocky side so it made tent set up a little on the difficult side, but not terrible. The privacy between sites was great, didn't feel tight like some of the other parks which is nice. The bathrooms were clean. There is also shower and laundry up at the camp store. Showers are 1.50 for 5 minutes, and the laundry was reasonably priced. The camp store is well stocked and open later then most in other parks. There was an amphitheater with a ranger presentation close by that was very informative. The actual cave is also walking distance. There were several deer around, one was even just inches from our tent when we woke up. The bats also do not disappoint, if you like those little guys.

Loved the campround. Walking trails take you to cave, lodge and ranger activities.
