Manitoba Agricultural Museum Three Creeks Campground

Overview

Three Creeks Campground offers a unique camping experience rooted in the rich history of the Canadian prairies. Located on the grounds of the Manitoba Agricultural Museum, this park allows visitors to step back in time while enjoying modern RV conveniences. The atmosphere is quiet and reflective, characterized by a vintage heritage village setting that surrounds the camping area. It serves as an ideal base for those looking to explore the extensive collection of antique farm equipment and historic buildings on-site.

Location & Surroundings

Positioned conveniently near the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 34 in Austin, Manitoba, the campground is easily accessible for travelers crossing the province. The surrounding landscape consists of expansive prairie vistas and lush agricultural land. Because it is situated away from major urban centers, the park provides a peaceful environment with minimal light pollution, making it a wonderful spot for stargazing. The geography is mostly flat, offering easy maneuvering for larger rigs entering the museum grounds.

Amenities & Park Features

The park provides essential facilities designed for a comfortable stay. Guests can choose from over 100 campsites, many of which feature 30-amp electrical hookups to power modern RVs. While individual sewer connections are not at every site, a centralized sani-dump station is available for guest use. The campground also offers access to clean washrooms and hot showers, which are vital for long-term travelers. Each site typically includes a picnic table and fire pit, perfect for enjoying the quiet evening atmosphere of the rural Manitoba plains.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw is the Manitoba Agricultural Museum, which houses one of the largest collections of vintage farm machinery in Canada. Visitors can walk through the Homesteader’s Village, featuring over 20 historic buildings including a schoolhouse and a general store. For those seeking outdoor recreation, Spruce Woods Provincial Park is a short drive away, offering hiking trails through the unique Spirit Sands desert dunes. During late July, the park becomes a hub of activity for the Threshermen’s Reunion and Stampede, a major local event.

Who This Park Is Best For

This campground is a perfect match for history enthusiasts who want to immerse themselves in agricultural heritage. It is also an excellent choice for families seeking an educational trip where children can learn about pioneer life in a hands-on environment. Because of its location near the Trans-Canada Highway, it serves as a convenient stopover for cross-country Rvers who prefer a rustic, quiet setting over a commercial resort. It is best suited for those who appreciate a slower pace of life and the charm of small-town Manitoba.

Recently stayed a night here to attend a Manitoba Blacksmithing Guild event. We were in a tent, (only one allowed per site). The grounds are well maintained. Mostly grass and pine needles. Sites are under the canopy of a beautiful pine forest. 15 and 30 amp sites available and no service tent sites. Washrooms and showers were clean. plenty of hot water. The sites are really made for RV's. Small sites and no privacy if its busy. There are no fires allowed. You'll need a propane or other type of stove to cook on. No picnic tables. Bring your own table and chairs. Campground was pretty much empty. Had it to ourselves and just a few others tenting who wrre part of the event too. No one else. Absolutely serene. So quiet and peaceful. Don't hear traffic at all except for the odd truck. No highway noise. The occasional amusing tractor horn toot from the Agricultural Museum. No lake & no other amenities, I would still camp here for the peace and quiet. It's just so peaceful. No other people even on the weekend. Plenty of birds, fox screeches and coyote howls at night. The stars! OMG, the star gazing was spectacular. Hit the beginning of a meteor shower event and northern lights.

If you book a campsite and need to do a cancelation and you gave them a week's notice. They promised a FULL REFUND on there website. Don't expect a refund. There promising a $30 refund as it was $35.25 to book it and the $5.25 reservation fee is supposedly unrefundable, ok so why did I not get the $30 refund as promised. You guys just keep changing and making up your own rules and oh there's fees for this! Don't camp here 🤬
