Marco Polo Land Campgrounds and Inn and deluxe Cabins
Overview
Overview
Travelers plotting a Maritime road trip often anchor their rigs at Marco Polo Land Campgrounds and Inn and deluxe Cabins in New Glasgow, PE. This established property combines traditional camping layouts with permanent accommodations, reflecting the hospitality style common across Prince Edward Island. The name suggests a expansive destination geared toward family holidaymakers and regional explorers looking for an established basecamp rather than a primitive backcountry pull-off.
Location & Surroundings
Set within the rolling agricultural landscapes of New Glasgow, this property places visitors amid pastoral hills, red dirt roads, and coastal estuaries characteristic of the island's northern shore. Travelers typically arrive via Route 2 and Route 258, navigating scenic byways flanked by farm fields and tidal rivers. The local climate brings warm summer days tempered by maritime breezes off the nearby Gulf of St. Lawrence, making outdoor stays comfortable through the peak travel season.
Amenities & Park Features
Because names alone do not guarantee specific site configurations, visitors should contact the staff directly to confirm hookup types, site dimensions, and rig access requirements. Based on the property designation, guests can generally anticipate a mix of open and shaded RV pitches alongside traditional cabin rentals and inn rooms. It remains essential to verify electrical amperages, water pressure availability, and waste disposal logistics prior to arrival.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The surrounding region serves as a gateway to some of the province's most famous coastal sights. Visitors frequently make the short drive north to Prince Edward Island National Park to explore the red sandstone cliffs and barrier beach dunes. Golf enthusiasts will find championship courses nearby, while local culinary stops offer authentic Prince Edward Island mussels, potatoes, and world-renowned lobster suppers within minutes of the campground gates.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination suits families and multi-generational travel groups wanting a central location to explore the central coast of the island. It works particularly well for road-trippers towing travel trailers or driving motorhomes who prefer structured resort-style properties over isolated boondocking sites. Island explorers seeking a comfortable anchor point close to coastal beaches and seafood markets will find this setting aligns with their travel style.

We booked for October 8-11 (tail end of their season) and were pleased they were still open. I’m not sure what it’s like at high season but we really enjoyed the park and can see it really is geared to families. The lots are generous and the sewer connection is flush with the ground making it easy to use. Best setup! The laundry facilities were a bit run down - several of the units needed servicing but it’s a wide open space with a large folding area. Prices are good too. $3/wash, $3/dry. Friendly front desk staff! We were told of the great sunsets. True to their word!

I spent 2 nights in a chuckwagon and it was great! This is a very special place. The campsite is very big and they have so many amenities, particularly for those coming with kids. The chuckwagon had a nice washroom and everything we needed. The shower was great. We really have no complaints. Just be mindful that the chuckwagon does move a little bit when you walk around or if it is very windy outside. The location is amazing, so close to the Green Gables Heritage Place, and to the Cavendish cliffs. Service was great too, and all the communication we had via email was timely and very welcoming.

My six year old loved all the activities and playgrounds. The splash pad was such a hit that we didn’t need to take her to Shining Waters. I appreciate that we were able to get a site in the woods as opposed to camping in a wide open field. We prefer provincial park camping but the kids love places like this. It’s pretty good for what it is, comparable to Jellystone campgrounds but without the kitsch.

Love this campground. First visit was July of 2024 and booked our stay for this year while still on site! We came with family and friends and were able to secure campsites right next to/across from each other. From the outside looking in, the campgrounds seems massive, but once you get inside you see how neatly organized it is and well laid out. There is lots of fun activities throughout the day and early evening for the kids, and they also have one of the coolest splash pads I've seen! The staff were all awesome, the bathrooms were cleaned regularly, the grounds are well maintained! It's hard to find anything negative about the location. Given it's proximity to the main road in Cavendish, you really don't hear a lot of traffic or other non nature noises. We'll keep coming for sure!

Marco Polo Campground in PEI is one of our absolute favorite summer spots! We stayed in one of the yurts and had such a fun and memorable experience. The yurt was clean, comfortable, and a really unique way to camp—our family loved it. The splash pad was a big hit with the kids, and there’s plenty to do on-site to keep everyone happy. The campground is clean, well-organized, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. It's in the perfect location too—close to Cavendish beaches, attractions, and local shops, but still peaceful and relaxing. We always leave with great memories and can’t wait to come back again next year. Highly recommend Marco Polo for a fun and family-friendly camping getaway!
