Visited on the off season and looking forward to coming back in the summer! Love the wooded grounds, conveniently located bathrooms throughout the campground sections, lots of hiking trails to get to the lake, and if the beach were open it looks huge! Kayaking was easy by utilizing the boat ramp.

40th annual Halloween Walk. Great affordable family fun. Amazing decorations. Great costumes. Set your calender for next year. Your kids will keep you coming back year after year!

Great shaded spots. Clean grounds and bathrooms. Only bummer was no showers. Great location for fishing trips, with 3 boat ramps close by, and a very nice fish cleaning station at the west ramp.

Wonderful time with my lovely family having rented a nice pontoon with tube, and the lake is beautiful! Staff were very accommodating and we were even able to bring our dogs! The lakeside accommodations are plentiful and filled with the sweet Missouri forestry of plethoric abundance for the best of nature curiosities😄. Worth the drive to see for any nature lover. That's just my opinion🤙✌️😎

Very scenic location with nice tree covered campsites, full hookups, and views of the lake (at least the site we stayed in did). Unfortunately, it was raining for pretty much the entire night we stayed, so we didn’t explore the park that much. There were some nice gravel trails throughout the park, and the bathroom buildings looked nice, at least from the outside. There were a good amount of ticks, but if you stay out of the tall grass you should be fine. Overall, this place seems lovely from our experience here, and I wish we could’ve stayed for longer and explored the area more.

Campground is neat with plenty of room between campers. Restrooms need attention. Spiders were everywhere. Hosts were friendly but only seen them go through once in 3 days. Other campers were friendly that were near us. The biggest issue? The ticks are absolutely awful. Do not stray off the asphalt or concrete! 3 days of picking ticks off our bodies and the dog. Because of this we unfortunately will probably not return.

We’re over 60 and we have camped here for over 25 years always had a pleasant experience. This trip we had severe storms and lost power for overnight and a tree almost fell on my daughter’s camper and she had four month old. Sadly during the next day the ranger locked the bathrooms bc the power still wasn’t on which made no sense because there was daylight. We navigated that though and didn’t complain. There was also a party over Probly 100 people who had no supervision of thier kids. They walked through our camps took our kyack out and was jumping off of our jet ski. Not to mention all the trash they left on the banks we picked up constantly. We still didn’t complain. We received hail and dent damage to our new truck and my daughter’s trailer was damaged. Still didn’t complain bc that’s not the parks fault. That was all enough which we could live with but the new camp host we’ve never seen is terribly rude. His attitude started when he came to my daughters campsite without a vest on or no id in his hat and long hair and grabbed my daughters fishing pole. My hubby said very kindly hey sir they have a little baby please don’t knock on the door because it was 7 am. He introduced himself but got an attitude and my husband navigated that well by saying we appreciate it but we just don’t want the baby to wake up. He is a younger camp host that truly needs to learn interpersonal skills. My hubby’s little fishing boat was parked for ten minutes where other host have told us to park it to load before. Same spot because we’re a three pull with our camper. There was no traffic and no one hardly parked by ramp and we were simply loading the camper and he was on a huge power trip saying to move it now and he was calling the game warden and kept on my husband even though we told him we had to load the camper then the boat we would be out of there within five minutes. It upset my hubby so much he went and moved the boat again only to have to reload in like two minutes. What does old power trip park host do he comes down and starts telling him he’s still not in the right place and he’s calling the game warden. Instead of saying hey thanks for trying but you’re still not in the right place. He was nasty! It really kinda put a damper and ruint an already rough weekend with the storm. He should have been doing his real job and making sure people weren’t trashing the camp or tearing other peoples stuff up. Truly disappointed and we won’t come back this time of year if there is a chance he’s on duty.

A very clean and quiet campground, the host is never at the booth. We got here Wednesday night around 5:00 no host to check us in, we drove to our site set up.and that was at 6 still no one there, the sign said they would be back at 11 in the morning we went up there no one there, we call the number and they said they would get back with us to check in. never did we hot back here around 500, no one there went up there at 6 and was some there. They ask my name, and site number gave me our tag for the site to hang. Very unfriendly, no reserve tags on the site before you get there. Never see the host drive around.

Large wooded RV campsites with FHU. Asphalt pads, many are long and level enough for big rigs and tow vehicle. If you have a lake view, it is going to be partially or mostly obscured by trees. The campgrounds are high above the water level so water access is via trails that currently end well above water line. Playgrounds are available in the camp loops. A very nice lady checked us in.

We were only sitting down for 5 minutes anf we had 4 deer walking only a few feet from us. They were beautiful. Now for the old man at the gate, he was not at all friendly. He was a dismissive jerk.Handed my husband a map only when asked and before he could ask where the site was he closed the window in his face. He is a nasty one that should stay out of public service. The park is lovely.
