Markleeville Campground

Biggest thing... it's now $26 a night not the $18 the OFFICIAL website says. Should be illegal to bait and switch. This is a small, quiet campground for no bigger than a truck camper. Our site took some effort to level up on. It's on the river which is a nice feature, has pit toilets, water spiggots, picnic table, BBQ and fire pit with a provided bottle of water to extinguish your campfire. Beautiful surroundings 30 miles away from South Lake Tahoe. Personally, not worth $26, tho.

Small and quiet campground. First come first serve. Cash only. No water at this time. Clean pit bathrooms. Right on the creek with good Trout fishing. 5 minutes to the little town of Markleeville. There are two restaurants and a small market there.

Been camping out here since I was little. Absolutely love it.

This is definitely a spot for van camping or tent camping. No RVs! It looks quite a bit overgrown and not variable monitored but at least it had a restroom in a dumpster. Would be a good spot if you could fit into the small spots.

A nice place to camp close to all the fun climbs for Alta Alpina 8 plus riding around Monitor and Ebbetts Passes... be it cycling or motorcycle...cold clear water to soak in afterwards ...sadly..I hoped it will survived the fire..looks really bad but hope is all we have currently from the Tamarack Fire which started on July 4th near Markleeville

We had an awesome experience until we had to evacuate due to fire. No real flushing toilets or bathrooms but otherwise the perfect campground. Steps from the river, quiet and beautiful

Quaint small campground along a creek. Some shade and so close to small town with beer, dining and a store.

Hidden gem, Josh the camp host is terrific! Shade & sun in each campsite, Markleeville Creek borders the site. In our opinion, this is the best one in the Markleeville area. First come-no reservations.
