This place is absolutely perfect for anyone coming to visitation student at NMU. Very nice place and although you are actually hidden in the woods along the Dead River, and tons of bike trails, you actually feel like you are on campus, it's that close. Full hook ups available, dump station, fire wood, play ground, events, etc. Personally have stayed here at least 5 times, each experience was great.

The park is located next to a wide paved bike path that gets you everywhere in Marquette. The University is just a couple of blocks away. The park is quiet, clean and has very helpful staff. Reasonably priced, with limited full hook-ups, and some pull through sites available.

I did not want to leave a bad review because most of the things here are great but you can't have hammocks and you can have generators? Our neighbor has been running a generator for hours for 2 days and it's the most annoying inconvenient thing. How is that allowed? 1 out of 5 because of this possible inconvenience for anyone who might stay here.

Great find for campers in the middle of Marquette. We were not expecting much when we booked this campground for our RV trip. We were just glad we could find space somewhere on our trip. But when we pulled into the tree-lined entrance to the park we found this open but cozy campground with mature trees, easy pull-through pads with electric hookups and some with water hookups. Restrooms with full plumbing, including one shower.

The campground is clean and has large lots. There are rustic sites, electric only, and elec with water. Dump station on site. Beautiful views. Bike trails are right outside the campground, making it an ideal location for bicycling around Marquette. Can get to the Black Rocks and the Iron Ore Heritage trail by riding on connector bike paths. IMO, there are not enough toilets/showers for the number of campsites. The electric only area has 40 campsites. There are 2 toilets and 1 shower in the women's bathroom. An improvement would be creating paths to the bathrooms. The lots are big enough to carve out a path to get to the bathroom. Another improvement would be to mark directions on the roadways. They are only wide enough for 1 vehicle , but no directional markings to know which way to go.

It was an awesome place to bring your dog off leash! Closed now getting ready for campers. If anyone knows where to bring our dogs now. It would be much appreciated!!

The campground is beautiful. Big trees all around, I loved it. What I didn’t like was the shower rooms. Going into a shower room with my bag with towels, soaps and clean clothes, there is no hooks to hang my bag or towels. No place to set my soap or shampoo bottle. I skipped a shower that day. The shower rooms could use some cleaning too. Working on those two things this would be a great place to stay. No internet.

Stayed one night. The campground is nicely situated in a small forest near town. It was quiet at night—all campers respected the quiet hours. This is a family friendly park. If you can get a site by the water that would be ideal. There are showers in 2 different bathhouses. Hot water was great . Trash bins in bathrooms are too small for a park this size. I used the larger bathhouse to shower & it was clean. The smaller bathhouse had mud all over the floor in the shower. It was early morning on Sunday & I doubt that staff had time to get in there to take care of it. The young people running the office/check in were very polite, helpful and friendly. They sell firewood & there are different types of sites (full hookup, electric & water, electric only and dry) at different price points.

You want shade, this is the place. It's a beautiful campground with trees trees and trees. The back in spots are angled for easy entry but can be tight quartered with trees, there is room just need to take your time. Spots are level with sandy dirt. Electric, water & sewer hook up's are long so you may need 2 water and 2 dump hoses. Bath/shower are clean and they have a separate unisex bathroom/shower for the handicapped.

We didn’t stay here but they allowed us to dump our water tanks out of the camper and refill our fresh water for $5. I was also able to pay $2 to take a hot shower which felt luxurious. Pretty site with water views. Basic play equip for kids, sites were close together but nice. Only downside was no door on the shower stall, just a curtain (it was in a dedicated women’s restroom and I didn’t have an issue but I always prefer a door).

Great park! Scouted it out for summer camping. A bit too cold this time of year, but I’m sure it’ll be great this summer. Close to everything downtown too.

What was nice for my wife and I was the ability to explore the area for the first time by bicycle right from camp. That was the reason I chose to camp here and it was even easier to get to the bike paths than I expected. The lake view was better than I expected. A local officer frequently patrolled the campground throughout the week. People were friendly. I'll definitely be back some day.

Great staff! Nice park. If you need a place to park your camper or pitch your tent while you go explore the area, this place is great. Not restricted to just campers. There is a public playground, picnic, fun area as well. Lots and lots of trees, various kinds. Some hiking trails in the woods as well. Haven't looked to see if there is a beach, but there is a reservoir in the park. Definitely would stay here again.
