Martha Creek

Overview

Martha Creek Provincial Park is a premier destination for travelers exploring the Kootenay Rockies region. Situated along the expansive Lake Revelstoke, this park offers a quintessential British Columbia camping experience. Known for its spacious campsites and stunning mountain vistas, it provides a peaceful retreat from the busier mountain towns while remaining easily accessible for large rigs and family caravans looking for a quiet nature getaway on the water.

Location & Surroundings

The park is located approximately 20 kilometers north of the city of Revelstoke along Highway 23. It sits on the western shore of the Revelstoke Reservoir, nestled between the majestic Monashee and Selkirk mountain ranges. The surrounding landscape is characterized by dense coniferous forests and crystal-clear alpine waters, creating a dramatic and serene backdrop for morning coffee or evening strolls along the scenic shoreline.

Amenities & Park Features

While many provincial parks in the province are quite rustic, Martha Creek has recently expanded to include several sites with 30-amp power, making it significantly more comfortable for modern RVers. The park features a large concrete boat launch for water enthusiasts and a well-maintained sandy beach area that is a rare find for this mountainous region. You will also find accessible facilities, a playground for children, and a group picnic shelter overlooking the lake.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor recreation is the primary draw for visitors staying in this area. Travelers often spend their days fishing for bull trout or paddling along the calm reservoir waters. For those looking to explore further, the Meadows in the Sky Parkway at Mount Revelstoke National Park is a short drive away. Additionally, the nearby town of Revelstoke offers a vibrant downtown core, local museums, and the famous Revelstoke Mountain Resort for summer sightseeing and gondola rides.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for families and water lovers who prioritize scenic views and direct lakeside access. It appeals specifically to RVers who prefer a natural, forested setting over a commercial resort but still appreciate the convenience of electrical hookups. It serves as a perfect base for those wanting to explore the local national parks while staying in a quieter, more relaxed environment right on the water.

Great spot! Lake was cool to swim in- not icy cold as I feared. Wear or bring water shoes or rubber sandals so you can easily wade into the water. Helpful because the rocks get bigger the further out you go and they have a special coating of slime...😆 The scenery is gorgeous. We came twice to eat a picnic supper at the beach & swim. There are pit toilets. It was never crowned but may get that way on the weekend. It's really cool that there is a playground right on the beach for kids. There was a "No Dogs" sign, but we saw a few small dogs at the beach on leash.

Pretty place and the campground is nice but sites are close together not much privacy. The beach access is only at the sites 1-11, so it's far if you aren't near there. has a pebble beach but not bad and a little park right at the beach, which is nice. I like that they have showers.

As someone who has camped at over 50 provincial parks, I was absolutely shocked at how nice the staff here are!! By far, THE NICEST STAFF I’ve ever had dealings with in an of the BC parks. The park has recently been expanded and now has 109 sites. The lake is GORGEOUS and crystal clear!! Showers, bathrooms, pit toilets throughout, volleyball net, 2 off leash dog beach areas, kids playground directly on the beach…THIS ONE HAS IT ALL!! (Minus cell signal) 😂🤦🏼‍♂️

Very friendly staff working there. We had no booking but was able to pick a available site (33) and pay the park operator $28 Free hot showers, very well maintained bathrooms, drinking water and rv water hookup. Firewood available for $10 a bag and firepits and bench at each site

Wonderful place. Remote and peaceful. Great beach access and boat launch access. Most of the sites are well above the lake but many have great reviews. No electricity and 8 miles from cell service. Bring your starlink and your solar panels!
