Great park. Water and elect at our site. Dump station conveniently located near the exit and double sided for no wait.. Trails were great for hiking or biking.

Beautiful state park! Well worth thr 5 hour drive. Small park with a beautiful swim area and fun hiking trails. We camped at a shelter and it was perfect. Didn't catch any fish but would rent a canoe again, so beautiful!

Great place to camp. There is a really nice fishing pier and quite a few bike or hiking trails. If you camp here be sure to bring ant spray. There are Argentine ants that seem to be everywhere, but they don't bite. Just don't want to take em home with you.

I've been going here my whole life, since the late 90s. Love camping on the island. Some cabins have great locations. But some are too close together. The plant has some amazing lights at night, but at certain parts of the lake or park it can be loud for some. I take my kayak and venture around the lake nowadays more so than camping. Make sure to take a thermocell or something to repel mosquitos. Have fun!

Martin Creek Lake State Park is a peaceful little getaway spot with tons of fishing opportunities — the docks and fishing decks are well maintained and make it easy to relax and cast a line. The park is clean, quiet, and pet-friendly, with plenty of areas to walk your dog and let them stretch their legs. Our pup had a blast sniffing around the trails and hanging out by the water. What’s really nice is that while you feel tucked away in nature, you’re still just a short drive from bigger towns with shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. It’s the perfect mix of outdoorsy fun and convenience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a calm, family- and pet-friendly spot in East Texas.
