Maverick Ranch RV Park At Lajitas Golf Resort & Spa

Overview

Maverick Ranch RV Park At Lajitas Golf Resort & Spa offers a unique blend of rugged desert adventure and high-end resort comfort. Located in the remote Big Bend region of West Texas, this park provides a sophisticated home base for travelers exploring the expansive landscape. Unlike a standard roadside stop, it functions as a luxury destination that allows guests to enjoy the isolation of the desert without sacrificing modern conveniences or high-quality service.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the historic town of Lajitas, the park sits between the majestic Big Bend National Park and the vast Big Bend Ranch State Park. The surrounding scenery is defined by dramatic mesas, desert flora, and the winding Rio Grande. This location provides a true sense of seclusion, where the night skies are famously dark and the silence of the desert is only broken by the sound of local wildlife and mountain breezes.

Amenities & Park Features

Guests at Maverick Ranch enjoy access to premium amenities including a sparkling swimming pool, clubhouse, and laundry facilities. Because it is part of the larger Lajitas Golf Resort, RVers also have access to resort-specific perks:

  • Access to the world-class Black Jack's Crossing golf course.
  • Full use of the Agave Spa and fitness center facilities.
  • Access to on-site dining options and the equestrian center.

The sites are designed to be big-rig friendly with full hookups, ensuring a comfortable and seamless stay in the heart of the wilderness.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts can explore miles of hiking and mountain biking trails or take a short drive to experience the Rio Grande via rafting or kayaking. The nearby ghost town of Terlingua offers a quirky glimpse into local history and culture. For those seeking relaxation, the resort's Agave Spa provides a tranquil retreat after a long day of exploring the rugged terrain of the Texas borderlands.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for luxury-minded RVers who want to experience the wilderness of West Texas while maintaining access to resort-style perks. It is particularly well-suited for golfers, couples seeking a romantic desert backdrop, and big-rig owners who require high-quality infrastructure. If you appreciate a refined travel experience amidst one of the most remote landscapes in the United States, this is your destination.

Absolutely top 5 park we have stayed at, we are full-time rv'ers and this park is a gem. Clean bathroom/shower house and laundry room. Easy in and out, plenty of room to maneuver. Would definitely stay here again.

I'm wondering if people giving this a 5 have ever been to an actual 4 or 5 star resort. This is definitely not a resort, it's a campground. Our upgraded site was nice but you could get a view from any site. The pad was very broken up, so the gravel sites are just as nice. We did enjoy the dog park and pool (cold). The view at night with no light pollution was beautiful! But this is definitely not a resort. And this small, small town is really just a golf course with a few restaurants by it.

We felt like rock stars staying at this place with a pool in the middle of the desert. The community clubhouse was amazing. Had comfy seating for indoor cool gatherings, a refrigerator for storing poolside beverages, a pool table, a pickleball court, and the nicest and cleanest RV park bathrooms I have ever experienced. It was amazing to have access to the Lajitas resort amenities across the road with the most scenic golf course I have ever seen. We don't play golf, but I highly recommend renting a golf cart and taking an evening tour of the course. The view at hole 14 is stunning.

My girlfriend Pamela and I visited this RV park in November 2024 and stayed for a week. The customer service was outstanding — everyone we met was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We even had the pleasure of meeting the manager, who took time to personally show us around, almost like a private tour guide. The amenities in the park were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged. There are endless opportunities for walking and exploring the surrounding trails, and the area is a hidden gem for anyone interested in geology — fascinating rock formations are everywhere. It's a peaceful, friendly place that made a lasting impression on us. We truly had a hard time leaving and have already promised ourselves that we'll be back. Thank you, Pamela and Michael

We camped with a 5th wheel. Park was clean and well kept. Showers were clean. The pool was refreshing. The service was very nice. Lovely people. We enjoyed touring Big Bend and coming home to the Maverick RV Park in the late afternoon. We played pickle ball and swam. Across the street is a restaurant if you don't plan on cooking. The area offers activities if you're there for a short stay. The star gazing at night is amazing.
