Situated within the charming village of Greenport, it provides a unique balance between natural beauty and village accessibility. It is a municipal-run park that serves as a quiet, shaded retreat for those wanting to explore the historic maritime culture of the area without the high-energy atmosphere of larger commercial resorts. This park is widely recognized for its peaceful environment and its ability to connect travelers with the local coastal community.

Location & Surroundings

The park is nestled within Moore's Woods, a sprawling nature preserve that offers miles of hiking and bird-watching trails accessible directly from your campsite. Its position in Greenport, NY, puts visitors within easy reach of the Peconic Bay and the Long Island Sound. The surrounding landscape is defined by lush coastal woodlands and the refreshing salt air, making it a peaceful sanctuary for any traveler looking to disconnect from the hustle of city life while remaining close to the water.

Amenities & Park Features

While the setting remains intentionally rustic and focused on the outdoors, the park provides essential comforts for modern travelers. The grounds feature full hookup sites for RVs, along with water and electric options for various rig sizes. Guests have access to communal restrooms and hot showers to freshen up after a day of beachcombing or hiking. Families often make use of the on-site playground and the sprawling athletic fields located adjacent to the camping area, providing plenty of space for recreation and exercise.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

A visit to this campground serves as a gateway to the best of the East End. You can take the Shelter Island Ferry for a scenic day trip or spend an afternoon touring the award-winning North Fork wineries and farm stands located just a short drive away. The village of Greenport itself is famous for its incredible seafood dining, boutique shopping, and the historic waterfront carousel, all offering a true taste of coastal New York life. Public beaches are also nearby for those looking to enjoy the surf.

Great place but Village doesn’t keep up the facility. WiFi sucks, water & electric hook ups are old. Great location!

I am not used to camping but I loved this place so much. Quite and so close to the village. It is a little paradise in the nature. A lot of private space, and the manager Lisa is super kind and helpful in so so so many ways.. The only thing I did not like is seeing some huge dogs around that sometimes escape from their owners. Not sure how they could be better managed. Besides that, I am happy I went and I will go back for sure!

Great small campground on the North Fork. Lisa is knowledgable and helpful and seemingly available 24/7. It's a great spot to set up and branch out into the area. Not a whole lot to do on-site.
