Creepy spot away from everything. Bring a bunch of friends cause it's safer in numbers.

Just go somewhere else. Train tracks next to campsite and across the river. Train horns and screeching breaks all through the night make you want to rip your ears off so you can sleep. If you don’t like to sleep or hard of hearing, this place is not bad.

Nice and quiet spots. Pump water and drop toilet as well as port-a-potty. Each spot has a table and grill. Reservation is online.

Nice campground. Good for hiking or canoeing. Porta potty available. Moderately clean. As the source of water, there is a hand pump. Don't forget to bring insect repellent cream.

Nice campground. Sites are right by the river, although only Sites 1 and 3 actually have direct water view - the others on the water are too overgrown in the summer. No access to the river directly from campsites, but the nearby boat ramp is well maintained (albeit steep). Each site has a fire ring, a separate grill, and a picnic table. The campground has one vault toilet that is intermittently cleaned, plus port-a-potties. There is a potable water pump that works sometimes but is horribly loud (especially when your site neighbors use it at 5 am…), so best to bring your own water along with your own toilet paper. Easy enough to do, since you can pull your car right up to your campsite. Lots of river traffic during the day and early evening, as a gathering spot for boats is located just north of the campground. Trains pass on both sides of the river, and they can be pretty loud. It doesn’t last long, though. Easy access to the C&O Canal towpath, perfect for a hike or to bike. Easy access to the river for fishing and boating. There appears to be no on-site registration for the campground. Make reservations online at Recreation.gov.
