Overview

McGee Creek RV Park serves as a peaceful gateway to the Eastern Sierra landscape. Located just off Highway 395, this site is defined by its quiet, natural environment and proximity to some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in California. Situated in the heart of the Eastern Sierra, the park is positioned near the base of the spectacular McGee Mountain. The setting is deeply immersive, surrounded by towering peaks and high-desert vegetation. Its strategic location makes it an ideal base camp for outdoor enthusiasts who want to be tucked away from the busy commercial areas of Mammoth Lakes while still remaining within a short driving distance to essential services, local trailheads, and high-altitude fishing spots.

Amenities & Park Features

The park emphasizes simplicity, focusing on what matters most to self-contained travelers. Guests will find full hookup sites designed to accommodate various RV sizes, ensuring a comfortable stay despite the rugged exterior of the terrain. The grounds are meticulously maintained to preserve the natural beauty of the area. Additional park features include reliable utility connections and well-spaced sites, which allow visitors to enjoy their private outdoor space under the wide, starry night skies of the Sierras.

Adventure is immediate when staying at this location. The park sits adjacent to the McGee Creek Trail, a popular destination for hikers and equestrians exploring the vibrant autumn colors and scenic wilderness areas. Additionally, the park is a short drive from the majestic Mammoth Mountain, offering endless summer hiking trails and world-class winter sports access for every type of outdoor adventurer.

Who This Park Is Best For

Great quiet spot away from the busy village or bigger RV spots. Rented an RV and all amenities provided some for a fee. Overall my family loved this place and we'll definitely be back.

Awesome campgrounds! The location was great for several nearby lakes for hiking, fishing, and relaxation. The staff at McGee campground were so awesome especially Emily. She was so helpful, patient, knowledgeable and communicative to 1st time RV renters. The RV rental was clean with all the amenities needed for a relax stay. We already made our 2026 reservation. 😎
