Meadow Lake Park

Overview

Meadow Lake Park offers a tranquil getaway in the heart of Wayne County. Established as a family-friendly destination, the park emphasizes a peaceful lakeside setting surrounded by mature trees. It provides a blend of open and shaded sites, catering to those who appreciate a slower pace of life while maintaining access to modern conveniences. The atmosphere is consistently described as welcoming and community-oriented, making it a staple for both seasonal residents and short-term visitors seeking a quiet escape.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just south of Wooster, the park feels secluded yet remains highly accessible from major local routes. The grounds are defined by a 12-acre spring-fed lake that serves as the central focal point for recreation and relaxation. Visitors are treated to the rolling hills and agricultural beauty typical of Northeast Ohio. Because it sits near the gateway to Ohio Amish Country, the surrounding roads often feature horse-drawn buggies and charming farmstead views, creating a nostalgic rural experience.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped for various rig sizes, providing a comfortable environment for short or long stays. On-site facilities include:

  • 30 and 50-amp electrical service for RV comfort.
  • A 12-acre spring-fed lake for swimming and fishing.
  • Clean bathhouses, laundry, and a community game room.

The wooded grounds offer plenty of room for walking and enjoying the fresh air, while the private lake provides a picturesque backdrop for morning coffee and sunset views.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the park gates, Wooster offers vibrant dining and the beautiful College of Wooster campus. Nature lovers can explore the Secrest Arboretum, while shoppers will enjoy the historic Pine Tree Barn. A short drive leads to Kidron, home to Lehman’s Hardware, a famous store specializing in traditional goods. The proximity to Berlin and Walnut Creek allows for easy day trips to explore authentic Amish culture and handmade furniture shops.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for families and retirees seeking a quiet, nature-focused environment away from heavy highway noise. It is particularly well-suited for travelers who enjoy fishing or those looking for a comfortable, authentic home base while exploring the Wayne County countryside. If you prefer the charm of a wooded, family-owned park over a high-traffic commercial resort, Meadow Lake Park provides the perfect balance of scenic beauty and functional amenities for a restorative stay.

Owners are super friendly and respectful people. It was my first time RV’ing and they gave me a lot of pointers and helped me set up which was awesome of them. The park is quiet, clean, peaceful and is just all around a nice area, I will be back to visit!

I can't say enough great things about this campground and the people who run it. We we're running way late and they stayed an extra 3 1/2 hours for us past office closing time to help us get into our spot because of the dark. They even helped guide us back into our spot. They have a wonderful little general store and a nice lake for swimming and fishing. The campground itself is full of old huge trees and it's not a concrete lot. We absolutely loved it and will be back and back and back.

This is by far one of the best places to stay. The owners/caretakers are always available, the lots are spacious, the grounds are very well maintained. The owners/caretakers go out of there way to assist you in many ways. The rates here are so much more reasonable than others too. If we go back to Ohio we will stay here again, without question.

We have camped here for 3 years as seasonal campers. Up until this year it has been fine. The new owners are doing their best to clean the place up but there are things that have been not great this season. We have complained on several occasions about other campers cutting through our lot to fish and squatting right in front of our camper to fish. We pay a lakeside fee to have the spot we have. Others do not. One side of the lake is seasonal lakeside and the other side of the lake has no campers. We have not been able to enjoy our campimg season because every time we come there are people sitting on our lot fishing. I have never stayed at a campground that allows this behavior. It is proper and common etiquette to not walk through other people campsites. Not here. They are allowed to do whatever they want wherever they want. We will not be returning for another season next year and I know many others on this lakeside that won't be either. So if you dont mind people walking through your site on the lake this is the place for you.

I camped here in the beginning of June, compared to many other local campgrounds it’s very peaceful and clean. The new owners seem to be making the necessary improvements which is great to see. They seem very passionate that their visitors enjoy their time & about bringing community together through events & gatherings. We love swimming in the pond & have gone quite a few times simply to swim and enjoy the sunshine.
