Meadowlark RV Park

Overview

Meadowlark RV Park offers a unique blend of suburban tranquility and coastal access in Middletown, Rhode Island. As one of the few RV parks located on Aquidneck Island, it serves as a primary basecamp for travelers wishing to explore the historic charm of Newport. This park provides a clean, well-managed environment where guests can enjoy the salt air and the convenience of being just minutes away from the Atlantic coastline and famous local landmarks.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just two miles from the heart of Newport, the park is nestled within a residential area of Middletown. The surroundings are characterized by quiet streets and open green spaces, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling downtown area. Its location is ideal for those who want to avoid the congestion of city centers while remaining close enough to enjoy local shops, restaurants, and the scenic ocean views that define this region of Rhode Island.

Amenities & Park Features

The park focuses on providing high-quality essentials rather than distracting resort features. Guests benefit from full hookup sites that include water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electrical service. Many of the sites feature level paved pads, which simplifies the setup process for larger rigs. On-site facilities include:

  • Clean laundry services
  • Reliable Wi-Fi access
  • Pet-friendly walking areas

These features ensure that long-term visitors and weekenders alike have the comforts of home while on the road.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the short drive to Second Beach and Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge, both of which offer stunning coastal trails and birdwatching opportunities. History buffs can easily reach the legendary Newport Mansions and the famous Cliff Walk, which provides a dramatic three-mile path along the shoreline. Additionally, the area features several local vineyards and craft breweries for those looking to sample regional flavors after a day of sightseeing.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an excellent choice for independent travelers and couples who prefer a quiet, straightforward stay over a busy family-resort atmosphere. Because of its proximity to major landmarks, it is ideal for those who plan to spend their days sightseeing and their evenings in a peaceful setting. It is a top recommendation for RVers seeking a convenient Newport gateway without the noise of high-traffic tourist zones or crowded campgrounds.

This was a very quiet well-run RV park that I spent a month enjoying. The staff was very helpful, they would even call you on Amazon packages would arrive. Overall, very pleasant experience.

We travel in a 43 ft Winnebago Tour. We are very happy with the general location and service of this park. With that said, if you book a site in the Electric only section of the park be advised that the spaces are very tight and the area is very rough. It is not unpleasant but it is very different from the pictures on the web site.

Great location just minutes from the coast and downtown. With many attractions near by. Classic windmill down the street with trails. FHU but no showers most be self contained. Very clean and mud free sites.
