This was a nice quiet park for labor day weekend. While the lake was dried up, we were still able to get wet in the pool/hot tub. Nice trails with tons of wildlife. Amazing sunsets too.

This is really a nice campground. The sites are large enough and feel very secluded. It has never been very busy when we have stayed here. They have good amenities, activity center, a nice big pool with hot tub. Everything is pretty spread out. Walkable, but better on a bike or golf cart. This is a good home base for day trips to visit San Antonio or Austin. It is a shame that the lake level is so low. I can imagine that this place was a little more jumpin' when the lake was full. Still love it. Lots of friendly deer, so bring some treats.

So beautiful and serene, I think the staff are also quiet and not to be disrupted. I’m lucky I could follow someone else (with permission) when I arrived around 730pm and the gate code didn’t work and the ranger didn’t answer the phone. Flake Medina is hardly ever full and possibly hasn’t seen water since 2017, so some false advertising. In fact, we met people who came for the lake! I don’t mind it overgrown, it’s beautiful and tons of natural flowers and plants, even mullein as well as wild deer. Enjoy!

The cabins are very out dated and smell old inside. We tried to enjoy ourselves outside and from all the times we had gone not once had we seeing scorpions outside our cabin like we did this time around. There are very few deers know and some cabins don't have a bbq pit anymore we had to pull over a bbq pit from a cabin that was there alone. We tried overlooking at all of these things by going to the lake and relax as they mentioned on their home webpage and ….. NOTHING!! There is no lake at all!!! We decided to then head to the pool and it had lots of dry leaves and there is not much maintenance done to it. To top it off they seem to want to charge for sheets and towels that seem line they can’t get wash. I understand paint or ink that is not removable, so if you decide to stay here make sure you don't leave dirty laundry or simply don't take children. I really don't understand the cleaning fee at this point since they seem to want to charge for anything they can get there hands on since the place is starting to look like is shutting down.

We travel in an RV. The campground is nice it’s definitely a wilderness experience. They have full hook ups in sites are fairly level. Bicycles or golf carts would be recommended to tour around the campground. They have walking trails, bike trails very scenic. There is no Internet connection at your sites. If you need Internet, you have to go to the clubhouse, which is not that difficult. The cabins are older, but they appear to be in good condition. Expect to see lots of wildlife while we were there we saw lots of deer, wild turkey, and a few raccoons. The 5000 acre lake has dried up due to drought, pumping water for agriculture and the development of housing in and around the San Antonio, Texas area.

We really enjoyed our time here. Tons of campsites. Lake is dry FYI. Hikes were fun. Activity center had lots of fun for kids and strong WiFi for my work. Laundry was pretty small considering how many campsites there are. We had a full hook up 30 amp site and had coverage from trees and were pretty close to hot showers. Deer are everywhere and very (too) friendly. Don’t feed them. Beautiful landscape and the drive in is also beautiful. You’re not that close to very much, but close enough. 45 minutes to San Antonio metro and watch for very curvy, hilly roads.

Nice place. Deer are walking around everywhere. You feel like you are in the woods. Great place to stay to go visit San Antonio. 😊

We have enjoyed this campground. I love that the spaces don't feel like they are right next to others. There is room to back in and thier are deer running around everywhere. There is laundry, pool, playgrounds. The activities center is large with a kids area. It is a large park about 1/2 with sewer. They do have a honey bucket service. The Lake is at the end of the park. The employees here are super nice and friendly.

Water level is pretty low right now at the lake, no boating or anything.. The campground is pretty nice. If you are a Thousand Trails member, the 50 amp sites cost a bit extra per night. The campground is very large with a decent trail system so if you are a walker/runner then this park will give you space for exercise. The pool is very large. Sites are a little tight depending on where you are because of the trees. Deer are EVERYWHERE so if you have a dog just be aware of that. There are signs on the bathrooms to not feed them because they are trying to get them back on their natural diet. I didn't use the bathrooms but my SO said they were nice.
