Warning: Avoid KOA Medina Cabins - Bed Bugs and Unprofessional Owners! We have been loyal KOA campers for over a decade, but our experience at KOA Medina has been shocking and unacceptable. Last year, on our last night, a few of us woke up with bug bites, which we assumed were from spiders or mosquitoes. Unfortunately, this year, after just the first night, my niece woke up covered in bed bug bites - confirmed by her physician. Other members of our group also had bites, though less severe. We reserve multiple cabins as a family, and when we spoke to the manager - who was merely relaying information from the owner over the phone - we were told that my sister would receive a refund, but I would not. The reasoning? Because we couldn’t prove we didn’t move the bedbugs from her cabin to mine. This is outrageous and ridiculous. Of course we spend time in multiple cabins, assuming that the cabins are clean and free of bedbugs. The owner has only responded to me once, stating that nobody is getting a refund, and attached a report from an exterminator claiming no bedbugs were found during their visit. However, it is clear from the report and recent reviews that infestations have been present recently. One review just weeks ago included clear photos and mentioned they offered to move them into another cabin, showing that the problem is ongoing and not being handled properly. It is obvious that the campground prioritizes profits over guest safety and loyalty. My niece was covered head to toe in bites and suffered a reaction, yet there was no compassion from the owner. Families staying in these cabins have no way of knowing they might encounter bedbugs or risk bringing them home. We had to leave early, and I strongly warn anyone considering staying in these cabins: avoid KOA Medina at all costs. The unsanitary conditions and unprofessional handling of this situation make this one of the worst experiences we have ever had.

I loved my time here! The beautiful camp grounds offered plenty of activities through the day and evening. And the nights were very quiet. Only the sounds of wildlife as we sat by the campfire. I rented a deluxe cabin. The set up was similar to a hotel room. 2 beds, small countertop with a couple stools, a counter with a microwave and coffee maker on top and a small fridge below. It was bigger than I expected and it had a beautiful location along a creek. The porch on the front with a picnic table was an added bonus in my eyes. There also appeared to be a grill at each site. Fair warning...There was a notice in the bathroom area explaining the hot water is limited. I discovered this to be truer than I expected. Lol I recommend a quick warm shower vs a hot shower. 10/10 I would go back!

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Medina / Wildwood Lake KOA Holiday! The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming from start to finish. The campground itself was beautiful—well kept and peaceful—and our campsite was absolutely fabulous. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back again. Highly recommend!

Buckle up for a ride. We have been staying at this KOA in the same cabin (by the creek in the back - KT3) with multiple families for the past 6 years. After our first night in the cabin, at about 5pm the next day, I noticed about 10 bites on my left elbow. Didn’t think much of it, we’re camping after all. Went to bed the 2nd night pretty covered up because it was cold and woke up to 20+ bites all over my arms. Immediately searched the mattress and discovered it was pristine so I thought phew! No worries there. But then I checked the box spring and much to my dismay it was infested with bed bugs. I went to the office at 9am when they opened and was greeted by a very unpleasant young lady who was under the impression that I was required to be cheery and pleasant to her considering the circumstances I have found myself in due to their negligence. The owner’s son arrived and confirmed it was bed bugs and we were offered a refund for the cabin and the golf cart and were shockingly offered to move all our now potentially contaminated items to a new cabin. It was at that moment that I knew these people had no idea how to deal with and treat a bed bug infestation and we immediately checked out and went home with all our belongings in plastic bags. Over the next 24 hours at home I developed 60+ bites all over my arms, hands, face and neck which are now blistering and oozing. I called the office and requested to speak to a manager and was put on with a very nice young lady whose hands were tied behind her back. The owners tasked her with offering me 50% off a week in a cabin (not by the creek though) and a free golf cart rental as if I would ever be returning there in this lifetime. Foolish of me to think that an establishment solely responsible for what is now turning out to be an approximately $3000 loss (items thrown away, exterminator costs, laundry costs, mattress and pillow protectors, etc) would take any responsibility or ownership of their negligence. This has destroyed my peace of mind, I can’t sleep because I feel like bugs are crawling on me, my children missed out on their week of camping and I am absolutely beside myself because this has the potential to become very bad, very quick. KOA on the other hand… apparently not their problem. What is perhaps the most disturbing is that there are likely multiple families who have stayed in that cabin all summer and are unfortunate to not have had such a severe reaction to the bites and will likely realize what happened several weeks or months from now at which time KOA can absolve themselves of all responsibility. How convenient. Do not stay here. They don’t know how to handle bed bugs. They’ve likely spread to other cabins. I highly doubt they will effectively treat the infestation in KT3. It is my assumption they knew there was an issue in there, changed the mattress and thought they solved the problem and left the infested box spring which is why the mattress was so clean. Please, please, please, do not stay here

We where driving through and needed a place to stay. We came in at almost midnight and the young adult was very nice. Great location and very big Cam ground a nice pond and what I saw was two dog park areas and a dog wash area. The fire pit was extremely nice we didn’t use it but you can tell they put effort in everything there.
