I absolutely love this campground. My family has been camping here for multiple generations. Now I get to watch my kids grow up loving the campground just like I did. Lloyd and Shelly are hands down the nicest, and friendliest people. They always stop to chat and or just wave going by. It's always clean and we'll kept up.

It’s so beautiful here! The hospitality from Shelly and Lloyd are wonderful. They are always so helpful and knowledgeable. This place would be nothing without them. Nobody else is more hospitable and welcoming than these two. There’s plenty of room for fishing and some tent sites by the water. They have pavilions also.

Melton Hill Dam campground is a great place to stay. It was very clean and the beach for swimming is awesome. It also has nice bathrooms and a good general store.

Nice well kept campground with sandy swimming beach, campsites with power and a small camp store. Shaded picnic areas and covered pavilion/party space that can be reserved. Restrooms and storm shelters. Two lane boat launch with dock to launch your party. I’ve been a next door neighbor to this place over 25 years. The crew takes pride in keeping this place nice.

This campground had amazing staff that were very friendly and helpful. I was in a tent site right by the water. The spaces are far apart so you have privacy & it's so peaceful. New one stall showers/ toilets & a beautiful sandy beach area. I will definitely be back! I recommend this to anyone in the area.

Great location, facilities and staff!!!! I came in super late at night and was just going to bed when a staff member came by to say hello. I thought they were coming to see if I had paid, but they surprised me by saying "we just wanted to make sure you were alright since you came in so late!!!" Woke up in the morning to a gorgeous view of the lake and the facilities were all clean and the shower was hot. Will definitely stay again if I pass through the area!!! Thanks Melton staff!!!

It had been decades since I was there, good to know much hasn't change. The hosts were awesome, helpful and a joy to talk with. The site was well maintained and clean. The only problem I encountered were the fish, they didn't want to be caught

It's pretty obvious this is an older campground in need of some upgrades. Many of the camp sites were small and the pull through sites created a challenge driving through at times as they were adjacent to one another on a narrow road.. We told them we had two slides but the site we had, had two trees where the slides would go out. I finally got my camper situated after about 30 minutes. After backing the camper in, there was very little room to get out of the truck as there were wooden post on each side of the drive. The people who checked us in were very nice and obliging.

My wife and I take a bike ride here most every day. The road on the north side of the clinch River bridge is flat, is blacktop, is scenic because it parallels the clinch river, and has little vehicular traffic. If you are driving on I-40 or I-75 and would like to take a break to take a walk or bike ride this would be a nice place to do it. The road to the dam on the south side of the bridge is also nice but probably has more traffic because there's a beach, a boat ramp, a campground, and an overlook on that side. There is a dirt trail going through the woods that starts at the overlook if you are more interested in that kind of a walk.
