This was our first time visiting the Mendocino Redwoods. We took our trailer for 4 nights. We ended up staying in 27, we originally had 21 but they were able to accommodate us with a change. There was no shade in 21 during the day. I would love to see more sites have full hookups. First, I will start with the campsite. 27 in by far the best in the area. I felt like it had the largest patio, best shade, and you were facing the cabins on the end cap so you didn't feel like someone was always looking in your site. There was only one cabin occupied while we were there. Unfortunately this year the yellowjackets were out of control and so that was the only downfall. GREAT VIEW of the mountains, we also had a lightning show on the last night. 27 is a full hookup site as well. Activities: The activities were in full swing while we were there. The stay was 9/15-9/19 to give reference. The splash pad was active, the people who worked there would turn it on when we asked. The pool was perfect in my opinion, very clean, it was mid 80s and 90s during our stay. There also had a kid pool at 1.5 ft deep, it was probably a 10 by 10 pool. It was perfect for my kids. They also had a hottub. There was an animal spot where there were two goats, two pigs, a few bunnies. Nice to see some sweet animals hanging around. Next to the petting zoo was the tube area. It was decent size, I was kind of surprised by it. Kids spent hours in there. Great obstacle course for them. Playgrounds were pretty run down and I wouldn't call one a playground. I would love to see more renovations in that aspect. They had an 18 hole mini golf course, that was actually pretty hard lol. It is free when you stay, you go to the front desk to get balls and clubs. You just need to return by the end of the day. Great fun. They have a pond for fishing, it's a decent size pond and the kids loved it. A short walk from the RV site, not even 5 minutes. They sell live worms and other accessories at the store. In the back of the park there is an RC track. We used a small RC on it which was cool but the main attraction was my kids riding their bikes. It's great to have them do laps, with jumps and turns. Really good spot. You can hike around the pond which is .5 mile loop, very steep in some areas. They do have a disc golf course which leads you around the loop. I believe it's 18 holes but most holes are not maintained anymore and some paths to the holes are not maintained. There are still a good amount of holes if you wanted to. Things to do nearby: The skunk train does operate a few times a week and it does have holiday themes depending on the time you go. The skunk train DOES pick up in the campsite which is super cool. The kids loved watching it, however it's expensive of around $70 per person. Willits is the nearby city, plenty of shops to get things for you camping trip if you need. Overall: We loved this place. It was clean, the activities were so much fun for the kids. The sites were clean and spacious, if you got the right one! 27 is the best! The people who worked there were super nice and kept up on upkeep on buildings/trash/bathrooms. We will be going back, we really enjoyed our stay. I do wish some of the "arcades" were open, there were a handful of buildings that were locked up, like arcades and other activates. We didn't look much into it with our kids being young. I would recommend this place to anyone. Overall 4.5/5 Stars.

I'm leaving a 3 star review because of the horrible bee issue. It's not just one or 2 sites it's all of the campsites. You cannot eat or cook outside because you get swarmed by meat bees/ yellow jackets. And there nothing you can do about it. We put up be traps which we caught a lot but it didn't really matter there are to many. Another problem is the shower facilities. There were 3 showers only 1 had hot water, weird, right? and the water pressure was terrible. There was no place to set your stuff down on. The staff was really nice and there's a lot of things to do with the kids. Nice pool, hot tub and kids swimming pool, I like that. But because you can't cook or eat outside it sucked.

We came camping here for the second time this last week. The first time being about 5 years ago(different owners) the campground was so clean and well managed! We had a few small hiccups at our site and the staff were amazing and on top of helping where they could! Every staff member we came across was so nice and helpful! My kids were so excited to play in the splash pad that was not open last time we came! They also loved seeing the animals! We will definitely be back! Great family camp site!

Our Motorhome broke down not far from this campground so we limped in hoping for a spot and we were pleasantly surprised! The staff was exceptional, especially the maintenance manager, Oscar as went above and beyond to help us in our dire situation. He is a retired master technician and knew exactly how to help us! We were so grateful. In addition, the grounds were clean and the pool and hot tub were super clean. The kids loved all the playgrounds and the splash pad. There is a great little catch and release pond that is in the process of getting rehabbed. We definitely recommend this campsite if you have little ones, like a quiet beautiful setting and want great customer service.

This place is exceptional. Staff was great. Park was clean and well maintained. Pool and jacuzzi, petting zoo (sweet goats except the horned one, its spicy). Little town area, climbing tubes and ice cream! We wish we could have stayed another night. Spaces had enough room to be comfortable and it was dog friendly too.

The experience was lovely. We enjoyed the hot tub at our site. Next morning we relaxed near the pool. Bathroom facilities was extremely shiny and spotless. They had a little store on site with a decent variety of inventory. Staff was extremely friendly even when our campsite was a little too loud. There is a beautiful simple trail to walk on the property. We saw so many wildlife varieties. There is even a water splash zone and movie night for kids near the mini golf course. All in all an amazing experience for families or people just wanting a glamping escape.
Little Lamb’s Reading Room
Highest recommendation! Super clean, well organized, friendly staff, beautiful setting. I wish all campsites were like this. The kids absolutely loved it too. Lots of outdoor fun: peewee golf, fun house, obstacle course, a huge seesaw, a pony named Shelley, goats, hot tub, swimming pool, just great. Can’t wait to return in August.

We had a wonderful time at MRRV Rrsort. The managers are very accommodating. Always making sure we had a great experience. Ashley and Estee that work at the front desk are just as seeet as can be. Kari and Oscar are working hard to make sure the park is clean, updated and in great condition. They continue to improve the park one project at a time to insure guests have a great experience. There are a number of activities to entertain the kids and adults alike. Or just sitting by the campfire and bbqing. It truly is the ideal campground. If you are ever in Willits this campground is a definite stop for the night or a week. Short drive to Ft Bragg and the ocean. We will be back.

Nice enough park, but not my cup of tea for several reasons. Most of the full-hookup sites are buddy sites and they are close together. The park is very much targeted at kids and weekend warriors - with all the accompanying noise(s). They also allow mini-forest fires (aka campfires). As a person with asthma, the thick smoke permeating the air can be quite uncomfortable. There is no cable or OTA-TV reception and the Verizon signal was sketchy. Many of the features of the park are in need of maintenance as were the grounds. On a positive note, wifi was very good as was the power supply. Staff are very friendly and attentive. If you have kids or are a weekend warrior, this place is for you. If you like it quiet, still consider this place, but avoid the weekend.

We stayed 1 night in a deluxe cabin with our 2 small children. The kids loved the site, there’s quite a bit for them to see and do. Their favorite was the mini golf and seeing the various animals. The bed in our cabin was comfy and the kids loved the bunk bed. Ashley helped us with registration and check out and was extremely friendly and warm. I Would definitely recommend this place to friends.

We loved the location of the park. They have a petting zoo, fishing lake, old western town to explore and much more. It is an old and well maintained park. Staff was friendly. Lesson here was to know to ask the right questions for your site. We ended up in a short site with no sewer for the week.

I would give this place 0 stars but you have to highlight 1 to leave a review. My wife and I have camped all across the country and have never had such a bad experience. We asked for full hookups and were given a site with no sewer. The price - with the Good Sam discount - was $65.00 per night and none of the site features were available. We had to sign 3 different documents before going in: a copy of the park rules, a waiver release and pet rules, all of which are usually just handed out at other parks. There was trash pickup at the camp site( for a $10.00 fee) otherwise you had to walk your trash to the dumpster at the far end of the park. Late checkout (after 11:00 am) requires management approval and a $15 fee. If you plan on a long term stay, there is a 4 page application than must be submitted, requiring information about your bank account, mortgage holder, and much more personal information. In short, this place is heavy on rules and fees, but short on personality and features.

A former KOA campground with older facilities that are normally found at KOA's. Sites are very close to each other and feels like a parking lot. Plenty of activities for younger children. Three sites have private hot tubs. There is a pool and hot tub for summer time. Hour drive on windy Hwy 20 to Fort Bragg for more activities.

10 STARS!!!! I can not say enough good things about this place. My family (me, my husband, and our three kids) stayed for 8 days, and I wish we could have stayed longer. The campsite was clean and spacious. There are so many activities to keep everyone busy and happy. Jungle gym, mini golf, volleyball, disc golf, RC track, the list goes on and on. I'm glad we had 8 days to do it all. The staff was over the top amazing and so friendly. Jack, the general manager, went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be back; my kids are already asking when we are camping there again. Thank you, everyone at Mendocino Redwood RV Resort, for making our stay a one of a kind. 😊
