Overview

Merritt Pond Campground offers a quiet, rural escape nestled within the scenic rolling hills of Pennsylvania. Travelers frequently appreciate the well-maintained grounds and the simple, unhurried pace of life that defines this family-friendly destination.

Location & Surroundings

Located just a short drive from the historic town center of Bedford, the campground is surrounded by picturesque farmland and open fields. Most sites offer full hookups including water, sewer, and electricity to ensure a functional stay. The centerpiece of the property is the stocked fishing pond, where guests can enjoy relaxing catch-and-release fishing. Additional facilities include a laundry room and clean bathhouses for convenience. The park is also pet-friendly, providing plenty of green space for travelers to walk their dogs during their visit.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

History enthusiasts will find plenty to explore nearby, starting with Old Bedford Village, a living history museum located just minutes away. Downtown Bedford offers charming boutiques and local eateries within its celebrated historic district. Nature lovers can easily head to Shawnee State Park for hiking and boating or take a driving tour of the local historic covered bridges. For those interested in frontier history, the Fort Bedford Museum provides a deep dive into the region’s colonial and military past.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Merritts Pond. The Owners are down to earth people. Beautiful campground ,and very clean . Sites are level which is a big plus. We are back again this year at this Private Campground. It is NOT close to Rt 220 as someone else had posted on here. The most beautiful and relaxing Campground that we go too. You can’t ask for nicer Owners of the Campground. They always make us feel like 1 of the family members .

One of my favorite places to camp ever. Look forward to coming here every year to fish. It’s a great place to kayak and the fishing is fantastic. It’s also a beautiful place with nice views if your not into fishing. Great place to kayak.
