We made a last-minute reservation at this lovely campground, which features predominantly permanent campsites that are exceptionally well-maintained in comparison to many other similar campgrounds. The store is fully stocked, and there is an enjoyable manmade lake and beach area primarily utilized by the children. Additionally, there is a pleasant pool area that we enjoyed on one occasion. There are limited sites available for overnight camping, so I recommend booking in advance. My 45-foot rig had some difficulty leveling on site 92, but it was manageable nonetheless. Sites 2-7 appeared to be more level and were in closer proximity to all activities and the store, although they received morning sunlight with minimal shade. Sites 84-93 featured a steep incline that leveled off at the top, which may not be ideal for long wheelbase RVs. However, fifth wheels and campers had no issues leveling since their center of gravity differs from that of an RV. Sites P4-P8 were the largest and seemed quite level as well, but they are situated away from the activity area. Only water and electric hookups are available, and we did not need to utilize the dump station located near the store, as there was another one situated by P4-P8. There is an excellent bike trail that we rode down to the river, where we discovered Que's Bar & River Deck. I would certainly consider booking and returning to this campground for a long weekend.

Overall it was a great experience! We had the little cabins right across from everything. The kids had a blast! The camp ground is well kept. The only two bad things were the beds weren’t comfortable, but still better than sleeping in a tent and when I booked online it automatically added trip protection of about $40 to my reservation which they wouldn’t refund even after it was just done. We would recommend and go back again, but watch the trip protection.

This truly is one of the best places on Earth. I started coming with my boys when they were very little, when it was just the three of us. This past July, we had 6 cabin rentals made up of friends and family, which made 25 of us! Merry Mac is super clean, well maintained/updated, and it’s a family ran business. Lots of a greta activities for the kids, even during the week. We’re looking forward to bringing more families in July 2026, which will be year #7 for us!

Nice place. A bit pricey, but nice. Didn't find the staff rude at all as some reviews have suggested. Some areas do flood out though. We had a good rainstorm and the water was at least an inch on the campsite, which also washes a bunch of sand off the beach areas, which they seem to have to always shovel or use a leaf blower to get back in place. They did it no less than 2x while we were there. Dump station by entry way not an ideal location. Second dump station has grade issues requiring you to level out you rig if you want an effective dump. Water pressure at secondary dump was low. Swimming pool was neat and clean, but lagoon style area with inflatable slides and such was kind of gross. Band-aids floating in the water, and I get it, lots of kids, but still that didn't give the warm fuzzies. I selected this location due to the fact it had lots to do for kids, and you can tell they do try, but it gets boring pretty quick. We left a day early. Not to say it's not a nice place, but here too, at least 40% of the park is seasonal with transients like us sort of an afterthought....not their fault, many of the seasonal places are like this.

We stayed there 15-17th of June. This is our second time staying there for a couple of days. Stuff we like there: the park and sports courts are nice, the pond with inflatables ( kids loved it even though the water is green), the pool, the miniture golf ( although it could use an upgrade), clean bathrooms, friendly staff, and the convenience store. Stuff we disliked: too many rules everywhere, the prices are a little high for the cabin, trailer and golf cart rentals, need a little bit more games at the convenience store and more arcades by the deck area. Overall for us its worth the drive from Chicago but only to stay for a weekend or a couple of days.
