Very peaceful, dark, and quiet at night when campers' dogs aren't barking. Low traffic, no thru traffic, just campers speeding. Campsites were not full on 4th of july weekend, plenty of quiet space but heard fireworks from outside of the park. Trails are soft sand. Fishing is difficult, there isnt much space, alot of lilypads, shallow, clear water. Bass caught july 2025.

Beautiful park. Plenty to do for a couple days of camping, trails, swimming, or just hanging out.

Great place for a fun day of exploring and getting the kids out of the house! Plenty of trails, wide open spaces, and a beautiful lake. The kids loved running around, spotting wildlife, and just being outdoors. Perfect spot for a family picnic and some fresh air away from screens. We’ll definitely be back! Special mention of Debbie, she was really helpful and kind.

The hiking trails are fairly flat and good for beginners as well as advanced hikers. The lake has a section roped off for swimmers, and was mostly clear of algae. Cabins are close together, more so than expected. The cabin was well maintained and had functional items to use. I would return for another visit.

Spent a couple of days exploring this state park. While it doesn’t have all the amenities of some campgrounds it was a nice little retreat. The camping spot we were in had plenty of space, shade and the power and water were in good shape. Bathhouse and other facilities were in good shape as well. This is a large natural park so prepare for long walks and bring a zoom lens for you camera to get better shots of the deer and birds in the area.

1st time here recently. Stayed at a CCC cabin. Price was good, they are old but had everything we needed. They were Lakefront, but NOT like the pictures! Due to much overgrowth of bushes, etc. to prevent views of water ! The cabin needs a thorough cleaning! There were bits of food in kitchen sink drain- some blinds are broken, need replacing. Areas around baseboards, behind bathroom sink, etc.havent been cleaned in long time. A dollar tree air freshener (strong, weird smell) was stuck in kitchen w/ window open to soften the smell, on our arrival. A fresh coat of paint would go a long way, on doors, wood chairs on porch, porch wood, etc..No TV’s in cabins, very QUIET so go for that and read & relax! Trails around were nice (Ridge, & Mill trail, tho there ISNT a Mill! 1 st sign needs replacing stating that, you don’t know til we’ll into the trail when you see a sign that is still visible). )The Recreation area is nice, hardly anyone there (weekday). Drove the campground, one loop is nice w/ shaded lots,(Lakeview Loop tho there really isn’t a lake view?) the other Loop isn’t nice, with little shade, etc..They say it’s busy on wknds.Keystone heights is close enough to enjoy restaurants, some shopping, etc.. If we went again we would pay more & get the more modern cabin, or largest cabins, still priced well.

Beautiful state park. Very well maintained. We got there early to hike the trails before it got too crowded. Great hiking trails. There are plenty of side trails that lead to a small stream. Highly recommend visiting.

Very pretty! It was mesmerizing, driving up to our campsite and seeing the tall yellow grass shining in the afternoon sun, endless rows of trees, and deer. The lake is very picturesque and dotted with lily pads. The campground was well-equipped with a grill, a picnic table, and tons of space for our large 10-person tent. There were plenty of perfectly spaced trees for setting up a hammock. My 2 year old had a blast. We fell asleep to a view of the stars under pine tree branches and we woke up to the sound of birds and geese. All in all, it was a very relaxing trip and we’d be happy to come back.

Beautiful park with a main trail that goes along a ravine. While the trails are short, the Florida state trail also runs through the park. The campgrounds were nice with electricity, water and a fire ring. The park store sold fire wood, ice and souvenirs.

A wonderful park! We stayed in one of the cabins for three nights and had a great time. Check in was very easy, and the staff were super kind. The cabin itself was clean and cozy, and had a good amount of amenities. Area was was calm and quiet, and very beautiful. I will definitely be returning!
