Overview

Edwards FamCamp offers a unique camping experience situated within the grounds of Edwards Air Force Base near Lancaster, California. This facility provides a secure and welcoming environment for eligible military members, retirees, and their families. As a gateway to the high desert, the park offers a blend of military tradition and desert tranquility, making it a reliable stop for those traveling through the Antelope Valley. It functions as a peaceful retreat for those who have served, offering a sense of community that only a military installation can provide.

Location & Surroundings

Located in the heart of the Mojave Desert, the surroundings are characterized by wide-open vistas and iconic Joshua trees. The park is positioned away from the hustle of major city centers, though Lancaster is just a short drive away for additional services. Visitors should expect a true desert atmosphere, complete with stunning sunsets and the occasional sound of aircraft from the nearby airfield, reminding guests of the base's rich flight test history and its ongoing importance to aviation development.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped for modern RVers, featuring sites that accommodate both 30 and 50 amp electrical needs. Each site typically includes a concrete pad and a picnic table for outdoor relaxation. On-site facilities include:

  • Full hookup connections for water, sewer, and electricity at every site.

It is the most desolate and depressing base that I have ever been at and that includes 29 Palms. It is filthy with trash and litter everywhere and the airmen don't even look up when addressed.

Great place to camp. Pool is nearby and has a water slide

We spent two nights at this fam camp at the beginning of May. What a disgrace to the United States Air Force. This place is a junk yard. They obviously do not really care about those who served and their families. Too many full timers. That should not be allowed. Restrooms and laundry were filthy and smelled horrible. Dry camping did not have any water etc. it was truly a parking lot. I’d rather stay in a Walmart parking lot.

RV park with full hookups, spots are level and decent size, good Verizon and T mobile services. On the Air Force Base, first come first serve.

This is one of our favorite places for an overnight stay. The fam camp is very nice and well kept. Access is great easy in and out
