Military Park Hill FamCamp (Hill AFB)

Overview

Hill FamCamp, located on Hill Air Force Base in Northern Utah, provides a high-quality, secure environment for military-affiliated travelers. As one of the region's most popular military RV parks, it serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring the Wasatch Front. The park is known for its accessibility and proximity to urban conveniences while maintaining a quiet, structured environment. Guests often appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the well-maintained grounds that characterize this high-desert installation.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just south of Ogden and north of Salt Lake City, the park sits against the stunning backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains. Its convenient proximity to Interstate 15 makes it a favorite for those traveling between national parks. The surrounding area provides a mix of high-desert terrain and lush mountain valleys. Despite being on a busy military installation, the FamCamp area feels relatively secluded, offering impressive views of the jagged peaks that define the local landscape.

Amenities & Park Features

The park offers a variety of sites equipped with full hookups including 30 and 50-amp service to accommodate diverse rig sizes. Travelers benefit from on-site essentials like clean laundry facilities, modern restrooms, and a clubhouse for social gatherings. Because it is located on base, guests also enjoy access to the Commissary and Exchange, providing a level of convenience and cost-savings that typical commercial parks cannot match.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Aviation enthusiasts will find the Hill Aerospace Museum located right outside the base gates, featuring an incredible collection of historic aircraft and military memorabilia. For outdoor lovers, a short drive leads to Antelope Island State Park, where you can see roaming bison and the Great Salt Lake. During winter months, the park serves as a gateway to world-class skiing and snowboarding at several nearby mountain resorts.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal fit for military retirees and active-duty families who prioritize safety and value during their travels. It is perfect for those who enjoy the camaraderie of the military community and the ease of access to base facilities. Whether you are passing through on a long-distance haul or staying to explore the natural beauty of Utah, this camp provides a reliable and comfortable home away from home for the military community.

Spots are awesome, great public showers and laundry room. The WiFi is weak and T Mobile coverage in area is terrible. They have monthly rates from October to April.

Host is very helpful. Camp is well kept. Clean dog park. I was in site B, long enough for my motor home and trailer(75’). Very easy from South Gate to the Famcamp

This is a great Famcamp that is clean and organized and sits in a great location next to a park, splash pad for kids, rubber athletic track, large grassy fields and a fenced dog park. They have laundry facilities and an ice machine. The BX is good sized and just down the street, as well as a grocery store and fuel station. We were in site 36 which is a large flat paved pull through with a fantastic view. We had our spot assignment before we arrived so check in was easy and the gentleman at the office was very friendly and helpful. We also got to see the F35’s come back in and land which was a real treat! We would highly recommend this camp and will definitely be back again.

Wonderfully kept up park, lots of new fun toys/ slides, swing sets, water park. Close to Gym, commissary, BX, other amenities. Halloween Trunk or treat was fun and nice to see the fire Department there with the new ladder Truck.
