We stayed at this military RV park for over 28 days this summer, split between two visits due to business travel. The location is definitely a highlight—nestled in a heavily wooded area that gives you the feeling of camping deep in a forest. It’s also conveniently close to the exchange, just about 1.7 miles away. However, the park is struggling with deferred maintenance. The laundry room was a prime example. When we first arrived, there were three working washers and dryers. As time went on, that number dropped to just one of each—and they stayed that way for weeks. No repairs were made, just signs posted, and nothing changed the entire time we were there. The coin change machine never worked either. Another issue was a broken street lamp near one of the RV sites. It flashed nonstop all night, every night. You could see it clearly from your window, and I really felt bad for the RV that was parked next to it. It was never fixed during our stay, even though it was clearly a problem. Also worth noting: while I appreciated the ability to use off-grid spots, I mistakenly assumed those days wouldn’t count toward the stay limit. They do, which wasn’t made clear upfront. That threw off my planning, and it’s something others should be aware of. On the plus side, it’s quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature—though you’ll want to come prepared for a lot of mosquitos. The heavy tree cover also makes satellite reception spotty at best. In summary, it’s a decent military RV park in a beautiful location, but the lack of maintenance and slow response to issues really detract from the experience. With some attention and clearer communication, this could be a much better facility.

Great military campground. We have been here before and enjoy coming back. A few secluded sites (#20-37) are absolutely the best, very quiet and individually placed around the loop. Sites 1-19 are typical spots much closer together. No wifi, ok digital broadcast TV, zero satellite coverage (forest everywhere, no LOS to horizon). NAF employee nice and helpful, off duty hosts are so-so this year. Sap from trees can drip on RVs and vehicles, bring goo-be-gone for cleaning. Love this location.

Nice military campground on JBLM. There are plenty of spacious sites in a shady forest. Sites with hookups can be reserved and dry sites are available on a first come, first served basis. We stayed at a dry site for a weekend, so the shade trees were nice. Fresh water and a dump station were available on site. The only downside to staying on an Air Force base was getting woken up by aircraft on the nearby airfield! Access is limited since it is on a military base.

I want to share the magical experience of Sherwood Forest. This Military Rv parks is awesome. Where can you get this much space for $28 a night full hooks up. We always leave our site better than we left it. The forest smell like Christmas. I will miss the sound of the birds, and the hummingbirds that came to the bird feeder. There are so much space in the upper level spots between spots you feel like you in your in a special spot in the forest. I say good night to my last sun set and wish i could take this to my next adventure. When you come here come to the ext 125. Due to the military taking money from MWR, they are not staffed well. I find that there is a lot of confusion. When asked how to come here there was so many people telling you how to get to the Air Force side to the RV Park. I am not impressed with the hours, the people and the camp host who no one really wants to work and try’s to take care of this RV park. This was an amazing experience.

I don't have any idea why folks rates this campground so poorly. We stayed here for five days while our house was on the market. The place is quiet, shaded and all the staff, we interacted with, were excellent. I didn't need them but all the facilities were clean and serviceable. There were mosquitos in the evening, shocking, a rain forest with bugs.
