Thr bathrooms were clean and the water was beautiful. Lake was really low, so the walk to the water was longer but not terrible.

This place is really beautiful and peaceful. It's gorgeous military only, so there were not many people. The fishing is really fun. There are a bunch of huge fish, you'd know it because they make big splashes. The walk to the water might be challenging to old people as it's really rocky, but it's alright for me. The view of the sunset is amazing! Although this place doesn't really have many activities to do but you can bring your kayaks or cornhole to pass the time. OR just fish!! We had so much fun fishing, and I even caught a 17-inch largemouth bass! We stayed in a cabin and it's spacious and very clean. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 with queen size bed and the other rooms have 2 double decks. It has a fully equipped kitchen so all you need is bring your food. It has a TV, couches, nice patio deck with furniture and good view of the trees, bbq and bonfire for each cabin and loft. It's pretty ready for your stay. Great for family or couple. Very quiet place 😌 so if you want to relax, enjoy nature, watch animals and detox from the city life this place is highly recommended.

Would rate it a 3.2 stars due to the 30-foot low water level, which has rendered the fishing piers, swimming areas, and marinas unusable. We had to traverse over 1,000 feet of rugged, rocky terrain to reach the shoreline for fishing. There was no internet/wifi available to use any of the streaming apps on the TV. TV isn't screen sharing capable. 4-star rating for the modern lodging (stayed in a 3BR/2Bath cottage), grilling, firepits, and playgrounds' conditions. Small store on site with some snacks, ice, water, ice cream, etc. Fairly easy and smooth reservation and check-in process. Lots of wildlife in the area. A Dollar General and several restaurants within a 5 minute drive. I recommend you bring your own non-stick pan/s, cleaning supplies, bathing supplies, towels, blankets, grill brush, non-stick spray, firewood, wasp spray, bug spray, and your favorite pillow. I pray that Canyon Lake will return to its normal sea level so that it can be a great vacation destination for all our military veterans and their families.

It’s a beautiful area, and the RV section was really nice—complete with a grill, a shaded picnic table, and even some deer sightings! We hiked down to the water area, which had great potential, though it could use a little cleanup to match the beauty of the rest of the place.

Our first time there and had a wonderful time. The pictures don't do it justice. This lake is Beautiful, just Beautiful! And huge!! Lots of nice areas to picnic, grill, swim, boat, jet ski or just enjoy the day. A Great time, priced right. And there's a military discount 🫡 (Thankyou to all who are/have served) Wish I had taken more photos but was having too much fun. What a lovely day! Will definitely be going back🤩
