Reservation only campground that is self serve. Did tent camping on 22 October 2025. The only allowed tent area is a cement pad with a roof that you share with another site. There used to be sand pads, but they are completely filled in with brush and some holes deep enough to bury a person. The area around the site hasn't been mowed in a few months. The bathroom building brought my rating from a two to a four. They are actually nice and well maintained. Free washer and dryer, with a sink to do dishes. Showers are clean and plenty of hot water. Would 100% recommend for RVs, not so much for tents.

This was our third stay here and while the others were not that great, the place has really gone downhill. This is our last stay here as there are much better places in town for about the same cost. The landscaping, if you can call it that, hasn't been maintained in a long time. Weeds were taking over the parking pads, others had piles of tree branches that had been there forever. The sewer connection covers are broken all over the place and many of the power poles were missing outlets or covers. There is no camp host and MWR is open with limited hours. There are two washers and two driers, which are available for use, free of charge. However one dryer over-heats and shuts down all the time and the other does not heat at all. When reporting the problems, the comments were that they didn't have the money to do any repairs. Having been stationed here 25 years ago, it is very evident that the condition of the base in general is not a high priority for the leadership.

I am staying for a three week work contract. It’s a good place for a short stay. There was no playground or dog park. The grounds and sites are weedy and dusty. The services all work well and the shower/laundry building is nice. It’s a good place to park and sleep while doing other things.

Great place for the night. Clean restrooms and showers. Needs some TLC around RV sites. *Came back hoping for improvements. We did get confirmed reservations but grass is dead. The dog park is pitiful. Told no water for park but a few yards from park the shooting range is green and lush as you could ask for. Yep, pups got to use the area and yes, cleaned up after. No reason to have it, if all that is being done is collecting $$.

The worst rv park I have been to let alone an Air Force park. No maintenance goatheads all over. No host park. They should be embarrassed to call this an Air Force Family rv park. Close it down and rebuild with on-site office and store. This place is pitiful.

We were very disappointed with our experience at Mountainhome FamCamp. Despite calling four days in advance and submitting an online form, we received no confirmation, call back, or email. When we arrived on a Wednesday, no staff were present, and the campground appeared unattended. The sites themselves were underwhelming and clearly in need of maintenance and care. After traveling for several days to get here, it was frustrating to find that no space had been reserved for us—despite a dozen open sites being available.

I had a reservation, they gave my spot to another camper because they gave his spot to another camper. Very unprofessional. Be careful.

No host campground. Fulltime NAF employee is located with Outdoor Rec. Names for spots and check out days are posted on electrical boxes. A good deal for the $21/night fee. FamCamp is located about a mile from main gate, small in size with mostly long-term residents. Appeared to be 4 rotational spots, all pull throughs right up front. We have a big rig, and because of tight spaces and car parking, we couldn't navigate the roads and chose to back i to our site. Concrete pad was level and right sized. It was warm, but we could only run 2 of our A/C units, as 3rd would trip the 50 amp breaker (at around 40 amps). Pull through sites were not long enough to stay connected, but there was parking just ahead of the transient sites. Nice dog park, shovels provided for cleanup after yiur pets.

OK campground on a nice base. No on-site presence so make sure you have your emailed information handy so you know your spot. We had someone without reservations in our spot upon arrival but they moved when asked. Reservations are needed as it stays busy. Enter through the main gate but use the far right lane even though it's gated if you have a larger rig as the turns in the other 2 lanes are very tight. The gate guard will open the right lane for you. Lots of goat heads and spurs in the grass if you have dogs watch where you walk them. There's a dog park that's fairly free of them. Laundry is small but free. Decent spot if you need to stay in the area. Lots of jet noise.
