Military Park Rocking K RV Park (Kingsville NAS)
Overview
Rocking K RV Park serves as a premier destination for military personnel and their families visiting South Texas. Located on the grounds of Naval Air Station Kingsville, this MWR-operated facility provides a secure and structured environment for travelers. The park is characterized by its wide-open spaces and the distinctive atmosphere of an active military installation. Visitors can expect a well-managed stay with a focus on community and service, making it a reliable choice for those with base access.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the heart of Kleberg County, the park is surrounded by the vast coastal prairies typical of the region. While the park is on an active base, it offers a surprisingly quiet retreat from the bustle of the city. Guests enjoy proximity to essential on-base services, including the Navy Exchange and Commissary, which simplifies long-term stays. The surrounding landscape is flat and open, providing excellent views of the South Texas sunsets that are a staple of the Coastal Bend region.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility is designed to accommodate a variety of rig sizes with level concrete pads and full hookup capabilities. Travelers benefit from essential conveniences such as modern laundry facilities, clean bathhouses, and a communal recreation room. For those traveling with pets, the park features a fenced dog run to ensure four-legged companions have space to exercise. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and grill, encouraging a classic outdoor living experience during your stay.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Beyond the base gates, the historic city of Kingsville offers a rich cultural experience. History enthusiasts often visit the world-renowned King Ranch, which offers tours of its expansive operations and museum. Fishing aficionados are just a short drive from Baffin Bay, known for some of the best saltwater fishing in the state. Additionally, the vibrant city of Corpus Christi is less than an hour away, providing access to the Texas State Aquarium and the iconic USS Lexington.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal fit for military retirees and active-duty members who prioritize security and affordability. It is particularly well-suited for military-affiliated travelers who seek a temperate climate during the colder months. Because of its orderly layout and proximity to base resources, it appeals to those who enjoy a disciplined and quiet environment rather than the high-energy atmosphere of a commercial tourist resort.

The person taking the reservation is very friendly. The rv park has some trees that create some shade. There are a lot of thorny weeds. Truth be told this rv park looks and feels a bit neglected. The bathrooms get cleaned well daily! Jets fly every day, but that was to be expected. They stop flying before it gets dark, so we were able to get a good night sleep. This is on a very small base and the Commissary and NEX are equally small, but so organized and very close to the rv park. All in all we can't complain, it's $26 a night with hook ups.

Enjoying our stay. We are in site C and overall a good site. Small base but has everything you need including NEX and Commissary. Enjoying the gym which is 2 minutes away. Gym has a pool, massage chair, and other activities.

It's a $25 campground. It is excellent for what it is. Restricted to military affiliation. Very nice lady at the MWR where you sign in. Full hookups. Everything works but does look old. Yes, if you are on the circle the utilities are on the wrong side so that your door is open to the inside of the circle. Bathroom is nice but not air conditioned. There is construction where they are building a new campground area.

The park was fine. Bring treated like we didn't belong at the front gate was disappointing. A 90 year old Korean War vet being treated like he was was sad to watch. I wanted to go further but knew it would upset him more They eventually let is in but made sure he knew they were making an "exception"
