GREAT spot to take the family to for the day. The landscaping is beautiful. The water is clean. They keep the place well maintained. The only bummer was that the inflated obstacle course was down. It happened both times we went there and both times I had pumped up the kids for it just to find out it wasn't up and running. Just try to call before you go to make sure all the toys are out. They don't do reservations for the pavilion in advance. It's a first come first serve basis. I will definitely be taking the family back. Im a burn survivor and I'm very sensitive to the sun, so having the pavilion and it being so affordable is a huge stress off my back when I want to spend the day outside with the family and still find safety in the shade. Very conveniently located. There are two different Food Lion grocery stores within about ten minutes of the lake. They have some concessions. Not much, but there's also a vending machine for beverages. They have life vests for just about all sizes. Definitely check the website for all the available activities and accurate pricing.

Very nice and quiet campground. We stayed in an RV site for the week while visiting family. One of the cleanest and most secure bath houses I've seen. Each room had a pad lock, toilet, sink, and shower. Please press the 🤍 if you this review helpful.

This is an Army recreation area with all the standard amenities. Including a lake. RV sites available for short or overnight stays are minimal distance apart, pull-thrus. They are concrete pads with picnic tables and fire rings/grills. These sites are on top of a knoll. Downgrade and then upgrade on unsaved road to access. Multiple stops here and always found staff helpful.

Wow wow wow! What a great experience for my high school cadets! Win for the army! Had every thing we needed for true camping and also bathrooms clean warm and in great condition. Such a great time here in December

This place was really wonderful to visit and relax with friends. I was impressed at how clean it was. Water is a bit "orange"?? The children loved the giant inflatable course. I would say that it would have been nice to use our own small inflatables/floaties. Great place to cool off and look forward to going back.
