Overview

Vandenberg FamCamp offers a unique coastal experience for military members and authorized DoD employees. Situated on the sprawling Vandenberg Space Force Base near Lompoc, California, this park provides a secure and peaceful environment for those with base access. A very peaceful fam camp location, the base is huge with lots to explore, a lot of history to see. The rocket launches are awesome to see, the beach is great as is the DFAC and BX / exchange. The fam camp is ran decently, camp host is very friendly and has the info you need to check in after hours. Wifi is wonderful throughout the camp. A reasonable amount of rv spots, lots of room for future expansion and the base should consider this as it could be a major money maker. The two bath houses are alright, showers were warm, toilets flushed, cleaned daily and stocked up with hand soap and tp. One of the showers was busted the week we arrived but the public works guys were fixing it, three of the four washers have out of commission tags on them, not sure what the hold up replacing or repairing them is but the issue is known and in progress the camp host said. There's no power outlets by the fire rings or gazeebos which would be very nice. They have water of course but more power plugs located around the camp to use would be helpful. Overall a truly wonderful spot if you have base access.

Very nice place but with the ground squirrels, there are tics and fleas that WILL attach themselves to your dogs. Other than that, the management is very friendly and welcoming. Their WiFi is alright but everyone seems to have Starlink and we used our mobile hotspot. The FAMCAMP stated to have activities for everyone, especially the kids! Laundry facilities are very nice and there is also showers and separate toilets for everyone to use as well.

Loved staying here for 7 months. Life long friends where made. Only saw 1 incident where the Base Police escorted a family out for their Child predator son who threatened other children. Wanted to make sure when people read their review that they are aiding and raising a Child predator. Hoping to NEVER see them on base again. The Fam camp crew are top notch. They really have worked hard to keep this campground rolling. The base itself is so serene and calm. We are so greatful for our long stay.

Horrible first experience here for our family. First, we had reservations like a year in advance. When we got there, they had canceled our reservations. The guy at the front desk said he sent an email saying it was canceled, and we never got it. We had to stay in two different spots because they had already filled ours up. Long story, but this was the most upsetting experience at an RV park we have ever stayed at. Handicap restroom was nasty. The seat had mold all over it. Will not be going back there. They called the MP on us & kicked us out with no explanation in the middle of the night, and we had no where to go. They said they would call us in a few days. Waiting to find out what happened.

Dry camp is now only 10 days out the month. Still $10 but inconvenient if you planned on staying longer. Still I will stop in when I come through because it’s really convenient and inexpensive for all you get and I really appreciate that.
