I could fill an entire page with all the positive things there are at this beautiful Corps of Engineers campground. The details and thoughtfulness that went into the design of the campground loops are amazing. Most of the campsites are level, and they are staggered, so no one is lined up right next to you. There are quite a few loops to choose from. During the off season ( September 16 - May 14 ) primitive campsites are FREE and campsites with electric are only $20 *$10 with the America the beautiful pass. The location is beautiful and the shoreline is easy to walk or fish from. They even have hiking trails there and saved some of the old limestone fence posts as a reminder of the rich history of the area. Another amazing Corps of Engineers campground in an area of Kansas that looks nothing like I ever imagined Kansas to look like. Beautiful !

Love this place and is always kept clean. You do get the occasional rude and disrespectful camper who trash the place or don't control their dog. However, most people are very friendly and respectful and willing to lend a hand. The lake and views are beautiful.

Clearest lake in Kansas! Great place to camp, 5 miles off the highway, over 100 camp spots, great views of the lake all around. My 2nd time coming here, and it's always a great getaway. I usually stay 1 night because I'm passing through and it's right off the highway. Campground is very clean, bathrooms are accessible from all sites, the playground area is great for the kids, and they have a shower bathroom located near the entrance only. Sites are spacious with water and electric hookups and most of them are well spread out! Swimming is great here, plenty of spots to jump in. Fishing available aswell. The ONLY DOWNSIDE is the bugs here. Soo many Nats, Flee's and Flys that it's hard to stay away from in the evening. Bring bug spray, bug repellant candle and you should be fine. I highly recommend this campsite even with that aspect. The views are unbeatable.

Minooka Park is a very paceful place to spend the weekend. The price is a little bit expensive because the electricity post wasen't working for us. Everything is well taken care of and the bathrooms are as clean as spected in a camping. If you plan your trip in advance make sure to pick a spot with shade. The view is amazing.

I booked my reservation the same day, online, and check-in was super easy as someone was at the gate to give us a map. There are dump stations & water just prior to entering the campground as well as at the gate. Bath houses were in very good order/clean. It was quiet at night at a reasonable time , even though there were a lot of people there. The lake is amazing and we couldn't believe this was in the middle of Kansas. The lake was clean and beautiful. Lots of areas to swim if you didn't have a boat. There's a great 2.2 mile trail within walking distance of the campground.

This is our first experience at Wilson Lake. We booked it for the last night of our vacation coming back from Colorado. We booked our spot (E25) a month in advance and when we showed up someone else was camped there. Told the front gate and they got a cranky old man with the last name of Guthrie to come out and talk to me. He asked if I confirmed anyone was there and was visibly put off when I admitted I wasn't comfortable knocking on their camper door and asking them to move. He had me follow him with my truck and rv only to have my family awkwardly set in the road while he and the park ranger confronted the squatters. The ranger took over talking to the dude while Mr. Guthrie came and told us this guy had come to the lake for 30 years and knew exactly what he was doing, and that he superceded our reservation. After about an hour they figured out the squatter had arrived a day early and we were moved to a less desirable spot with no real view of the lake while the other guy kept our reserved spot! We will most likely go to Cedar Bluff next time instead. Moral of the story, don't make reservations here, just take any spot you want and tell Mr. Guthrie you have been coming here for 30 years!!

Our site was further away from the RV's. Shower and restroom facilities well maintained. Watch for deer ticks. Wilson Lake and it surrounding area is beautiful scenery.

Good clean ACE campground. 9 bucks a night if you have the geezer, or gimp pass. 30 amp power where we stayed, but they had full hookups if you are in need. The place is windy and hot, but the lake is a nice place to cool off. Labor day got a little rowdy, and most folks don't seem to pay mind to leash rules for the dogs, but it clears out after the holiday and you get great 4g reception with verizon.

Took a chance over 4th of July to be a walk-in. Got one of the last spots. Have to say this is now one of our favorite spots to camp! Great hosts and rangers, clean, GORGEOUS lake! Only thing I wish it had more of were shade trees, but hey, this is central Kansas and there aren't a lot naturally anyway. Don't let that deter you though, the scenery is amazing, the water is clear and blue...not something you find too often here in our fair state! Definitely returning in the fall!
