BE AWARE!!!! Major gate fee change. They now charge per vehicle. I have A few dirt bikes and I decided to take 2 of my bikes to the park today because I wanted to ride them both. I was charged a double fee of $20 each. This is absurd. It also does not say this on the website for gate fees. The woman at the gate says they have been doing this for the last 6 months now. Hmmmmm Also, they are adding more trails and cut through with absolutely not arrows for direction. The SxS’s are not following the markers and I had 2 almost head on collision with them going the wrong way on the trail. This has happened the last 3 times I have been there. I told park ranger about the arrow issue and he didn’t seem to care. Looks Like Minooka is Turning into another park that does care about safety. This has been my go to place to ride at least twice a month for the past 10 years. It’s ashamed that the new leadership is going to destroy it. It’s Just a mater of time before someone is seriously injured or worse with this type of management

Beautiful park, if you like to RV, or just to visit for a picnic or hike. But don't go looking to tent camp. The website is not "interactive or update in real time" it will allow you can select sites that have permanent, long term, renters on them. When you select a primitive camping site (for tent camping) it brings up a map that doesn't actually show you the primitive camping sites, it shows you the RV ONLY map and you have to assume that what it's showing you is what you are selecting from, but It's NOT. The "primitive camping sites" are on the down slope of a hill, stair stepped using old railroad ties and back filled with dirt and rocks. Nothing is marked, no site numbers, no demarcation. None of the "sites" are leveled off and cannot accommodate anything larger than a 4 person tent either. Have you ever tried to pitch a family sized tent on non-leveled ground filled with rocks? When we pointed out the issues we were told, "well we never had anyone complain about it before, so... no refund offered and not allowed to pitch a tent at the RV sites. (not even for just the one single night that we had already paid for).

Was absolutely great, my first time and obviously my 4y/o's as well I would have more photos but I let him pick the first trails to ride and of course they were way above his level TBH but he rode them like a champ at 4 and only got stuck twice all day. He would climb all the hills with hardly any issue but going down was his fear that's when I hooked him too a chain and would ease him down but next time we go I'll have a better setup to record whoever this little champ goes.
Arts Alliance
The Central Alabama Arts Alliance recently held the first Annual Minooka Art Walk at the very beautiful Minooka Park. We greatly appreciated the tremendous support we received from the County Commission, as well as from Donald and Kathy Giles and staff. You all assisted in making an already fun Visual and Musical Arts event even better! We are looking forward to hosting another Art Walk at Minooka Park in 2026!

If you’re looking for a safe place to ride close to BIRMINGHAM, this will probably be your number one option. I went on a Sunday there was barely anyone riding. The trails are a little rough for motocross and I wish the track would be cleaned up and maintained a little bit better for practicing but overall it was a good experience for the $20. The campsites look amazing. There’s plenty of bathrooms and everything was nice and clean.

We live here. It's beautiful and everyone respects each other. Summer and weekends get busy, everything gets rented out. We're friendly here.

I absolutely loved this campground,The staff greeted us warmly, walked us through every detail, and attentively addressed all our requests, creating a safe, peaceful, and spotless environment. It unquestionably deserves a five‑star rating.

Showed up at 3:30 on a Wednesday and they were closed, website says open 7 days a week and google page says open Wednesday-Sunday 9-6. Couldn’t ride because of this and was a big inconvenience. I’d call to double check because their websites are obviously not kept up to date

Beautiful park with the friendliest fulltimers that are so welcoming and kind to everyone lucky enough to find their way to the gem that is Minooka Park. There is so many trails to explore and the lake is so peaceful and zen. The Alabama sunrise and sunset can be seen perfectly from your camper anywhere in the park and once you've visited once you'll want to visit again ASAP because this place will steal your heart!

I love walking around the pond here. The grounds are always kept up and staff is friendly... It tucked away just far enough that you really can feel a calm and peaceful vibe while soaking in the beautiful scenery of nature.

Great little fishing and hiking. Our family loves it! Can't wait to camp here. It is definitely a home away from home kinda place.
