Great place to set up camp. Lovely beach, beautiful camp sites. Nice washroom/shower and laundry facilities on site. The playground on site is in major need of updating and I would warn anyone coming to the park to be careful of their children playing on the play structures. Great place for Basecamp to check out local attractions such as Sydney or Fort Louisbourg.

Affordable camping sites with access to running water, electricity, and some with private beaches. Wheelchair accessible with handicap parking at the main beach area. Accessible washrooms and outhouses are also available. Friendly and helpful staff. The water is beautiful. We had a wonderful camping experience. Public day swimming is also available with ample parking.

Absolutely beautiful! Lovely spectacular river to swim in and take in the views. Large grassy sites with big trees. Very family friendly, quiet and peaceful. Also park staff was extremely helpful the evening my teen son cut his finger open with his jack knife. Definitely well trained in first-aid and knew just what to do while remaining calm. So grateful!! 💕 We have been here many times and will be back again.

The park is heavily wooded and the campsites are nice, but the only real bathrooms are by the RV site's with full hook ups. They don't need them anyway and you can end up a long way from a bathroom. The other problem I had with this place is that even though it has water on three sides you can't get to it because the woods are so thick. There is also very little breeze and it's hot here in July. If you can, get a place closer to the beach where it's ten degrees cooler and has more breeze. Also there are lots of mosquitoes. It does have handicap accessible out house's but the path to them is not paved and is covered with gravel. You will need an off highway chair. It does have a nice play ground for the kids and like I say the campsites are nice. Also it's on Brickyard road and sure enough I did see brick's

We had a really great time at this park. We lucked out and got a great site on the river. The sites on that part of the campground are wonderfully wooded and there is a fair amount of space between each site so you aren’t sitting on top of each other. These are the non-powered sites of course. The powered sites are all in a field in the middle. The amenities are great but one of my biggest beefs with all campgrounds are that they put the best washroom facilities in the section with the power sites for RVs. And RV campers for the most part don’t even use the washrooms because they have their own in their units. So all the tenting folks have to schlep to the completely other side of the campground to use the facilities. It’s nuts and it’s like this in most campgrounds so this one isn’t an anomaly. On the up side, they had great firewood and the staff was great. And a bonus part for me was that this campground has its own private cemetery. I don’t think it is officially part of the park, but it is there, and since I love exploring cemeteries this was a bonus for me. Oh and, a really amazing beach and great beach facilities. All around great memories.
