Drove past this state forest on the Mohawk trail, didnt enter the state forest but the drive was pretty with mostly yellow fall colors.

Incredible views of some the tallest pines in New England. Some reach up to 170 feet tall.

Stayed with my sisters. Always loved it. Never had a problem. They don't worry about fires being 5 in high and they let you enjoy your camping experience

Started at the parking lot and walked the edge of the stream down to the waterfall. It was a nice walk. We found out on the way back that there is a trail between the road and stream if you prefer that. Very nice views and it’s amazing to see all the different rock formations and how the water eroded them differently. It has a few different shoots and little spillways. Some of the pools were loaded with tadpoles. I would love to come check it out again when the waters higher.

My family just got back from the Mohawk Trail State Forest where we spent 3 days camping. We had both a tent site and a cabin (the older kids still wanted to experience tent life). We had an awesome time. The grounds were immaculate, the staff was friendly. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever encountered in a DCR facility. The highlight of our trip was the guided tour of some of the tallest trees in the Northeast, our “interpreter” was Christian, he was incredible! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and you could tell he loves his job! We will definitely be making a return trip!!

In early February stunning views with snow and ice covered river snaking between mountains. Signs of the bear country are also inspiring!

Beautiful and serene. We have had some nice hikes there. I would have given the Park a five star rating, but my wife needed a rest room and they said it was for campers only.

We love camping we go there once a year, because as old folks that's all we can stand

Set up your reservation for camping. Some sites are pretty tight for a large tent. But they all have a campfire ring, picnic table and bear box. The cold river runs through it, perfect for wading splashing and letting little kids build their own dams, only to be washed away by the rain. We didn't see bears but we did see squirrels, chipmunks, a climbing porcupine, eagles and hawks. Trails could use a little cleaning up, but you are far away from everything in the woods here

Beautiful pit stop on the bike for a quick hike to the cold river.

Went out there to get out of the house. Social distancing is really taking a toll these days. Amazing views just driving down Rte 2 on the Mohawk trail. Very relaxing and enjoyable. I took a lot of stress off exploring this trail.

Recently spent a few nights here in Cabin 3! It was lovely! The cabin was clean and charming and only $50 a night! (Should note on the reservation site that sleeps 3 in this cabin means a full size and a twin size bed, not three beds. Luckily we had proper fitting sheets, by chance!) Bathrooms were clean and showers were hot! The whole area was beautiful and the cabin area was remote and quiet. It was the perfect place to unplug while still being a few minutes away from lots to do, including white water rafting and a cute cafe!
