Wonderful State Park! Hiked from the Pleasant Hill Dam to the Little Lyons Falls, Big Lyons Falls, crossed the covered bridge, and back to the Pleasant Hill Dam. 3 miles total and was very doable with smaller kids. Can't wait to come back and explore more of the park!

We just returned from an incredible stay at the Mohican State Park cabins, and we're already planning our next trip back. The cabin was spotless and cozy, feeling like the perfect rustic getaway with all the comforts of home. The cabins were nicely spread apart. The gas fireplace was a huge plus, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere after a day of exploring. We especially loved the screened-in porch, which was a fantastic spot for morning coffee and evening card games, all while being surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature. The location is simply unbeatable. We were just a short walk away from some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the park, and the proximity to the Clear Fork River was a bonus. The staff was very friendly and professional at check-in, making the whole process seamless. It's clear they take great pride in maintaining the cabins and grounds. If you're looking for a relaxing, beautiful, and convenient home base for all your Mohican adventures, these cabins are the perfect choice.

Awesome River to rent the Kayak and take a trip down the river. So peaceful, relaxing, and fun. There are not too many places like this around me so this place is one of a kind. My kids love it too! They offer a Military discount on their river trips which is awesome of them. If you're doing the Kayak, canoe, or tubing you must be checked into the place (buy your tickets) by 4:45 pm. This is so you have at least a couple hours to enjoy the river. They want you back to the watercraft retrieval spot by 7pm which is plenty of time if you're doing the 3 mile trip. The scenery is BEAUTIFUL with wildlife, trees, water, bridges and whatever else you may find along the way. I think it's really cool they allow you to bring your cooler if you want to have something to drink along the way. The most reassuring thing for most people is that the majority of the river is only a few feet deep.

A little heaven in Ohio. I really needed a quick trip to calm my head. I stayed in the Motel 6 in Ashland and went hiking all day alone at Mohican. It was better than 100 therapy sessions. Thank you God for such beauty. One of the photos shows a little rock seat where I was able to sit down and take a rest. Ohio always does a great job maintaining their parks and trails and I am so grateful. I will be back for sure. I am from Michigan and plan to visit them all. I think I have visited four so far. It was a perfect 36 hour trip!

This park is definitely one of Ohio's better State Parks in terms of scenery and hiking. We did two hikes at the park: Gorge Overlook Trail and Lyons Falls Trail. Gorge Overlook was quite the trail. I probably should have done more research as we were hiking with our kids (12 and 10). I figured we hiked many treacherous trails out west in Utah, this one can't be that bad, right? We went counterclockwise on the loop, which means we descended a half a mile down a steep, very muddy, narrow path with big drop offs. It was not easy at all and I don't recommend doing this trail with smaller kids than mine. It does have some cool features and a lot of beauty, but that first half mile was no joke. After that though, it was fairly easy. The suspension bridge was really cool too. Even the descent up wasn't bad at all. Again, the first half mile down was a doozy. If you don't like ledges, this one may not be for you. Lyons Falls was the complete opposite. So easy. Flat. And a great reward at the end: a beautiful waterfall. Reminded me a lot of Old Man's Cave at Hocking Hills. Loved this hike. Had to use the bathrooms at the campground near the covered bridge. For a vault toilet bathroom, it was very clean and not too smelly. Overall, we had a nice time at this park. Definitely recommend it, especially if you are into hiking.

Great campgrounds. Big spaces, lots of grass and shade, everything was very clean. But the things I was most impressed with was the camp store and the friendliness of the staff. The store was the most eco responsible camp store I’ve ever seen, from paper straws, to bowls and plates made out of recycled materials, to the recyclable non foam igloo coolers. Even had locally courted farm raised meat and eggs in the cooler for sale to the public at super reasonable prices. Well done!

I stayed in campground B which is great because it's close to several trail heads and cost less. Water does not taste great, but the pit toilets were very clean and practically no smell, even in 85 degree heat. The river was very high as you can see. This was a nice experience because it was not busy. It would be very tight on a busy summer weekend though. I did shower in campground A. They were very clean and they also have a great camp store.

Mohican St Park is well known and respected state wide for good reason. It is a wonderful place. However, the amenities for the young are inadequate. We visited the wet, spring weekend of may 7-8 and the playground, near the not yet open pool, was already over burdened. It should be 4X the size that it is. One slide, 3 items to climb on and 4 swings. Little else. There is insufficient parking, clearly an effort to keep non campers from using it as a resource, but the result is a park where you can and hope to get away with it mentality. If small kids fun is your primary camping intention, I respectfully suggest you look elsewhere. There are far better options in Ohio.

This place puts a smile on my face every time I come here. I generally stay in the cabins at the state park campground. You need to book exactly 1 year out to have any chance of getting a cabin. Exactly 6 months out for a campsite in the summer. Get a site or cabin near the river and listen to its sound while you fall asleep.

Clear Fork river is always great to go tubing down. There are also many good places to fish, but there are alot of carp. Restrooms are always clean. Great overall experience. Ice cream is also good at the camp store.
