Campsites are large, level, wooded, quiet and private. No electric or water. Outhouses were clean and did not smell bad. The lake is pristine with sandy beaches and easy access. The camphost was very friendly. We purchased a good quality bundle of hardwood for a campfire for $9. There are hiking paths. We really liked this campground.

Nice campground! Mature old growth maple forest. Lovely. Very pretty, and clean lake. Large level sites. Clean outhouses. Water availability is quite good. We had a yellow jacket problem that was a bit frustrating, and eventually, painful! Very nice campground host for the one night, of four, they were there. Extremely quiet campground. I recommend it!

Beautiful off the lake, just a quick drive, ride, ore hike, to Lake superior.

Huge camp sites. Great camp hosts. Very well taken care of. Bugs aren't as bad as surrounding areas to camp at. Beautiful lake with fish. Must see camping experience.

Nice, well-kept campground with clean bathrooms and good sized campsites. Fishing in Monocle Lake was ok. My only complaint would be that when we stayed there there was at least one camper that ran their generator basically at all hours that were not quiet hours, but that was more reflective of the weekend we went (Labor Day) and of no fault of the campground itself. I liked the option to reserve a site ahead of time, especially when planning to come up for a busy weekend like Labor Day!

The sites are huge and very woodsy. We used site 38 and we barely even noticed that we had neighbors. bathrooms were exactly what you'd expect for a rustic campground. The lake is gorgeous with beautiful rocks to behold. Will definitely be returning.

Nice campground with large sites and good privacy. Beware the "early arrival fee." If you arrive before 2pm they'll charge you for the whole previous day which makes it really expensive if you don't have reservations and want to make sure you get a sight without chancing a wait until 2pm. It is a popular campground that fills up quickly.

Very clean quiet campground. The sites are all wooded with a good separation. No electricity. Generator use is limited to 2hr at a time. Vault toilets. 1/2 the sites are first-come so it is possible to just drive in a find a spot. (At least during the week)

Very, very nice NFS campground that can realistically accommodate large RVs like our 43' coach in many sites. The lake is warm (in July) and very clean. There is a small beach and a boat launch ramp. Most sites are very large and reasonably level, All are shaded with tables and fire pits. Only 4 stars because there is only one water spigot that has hose threads, and NO dump station, so plan ahead. There is a free dump station with water fill at the ball field in Bay Mills a few miles away.

BEST host ever!!! Larry & Becky do a wonderful job creating a clean and friendly campground. The vault toilets are the cleanest we have experienced during our camping tour of the Great Lakes. The grounds are very well maintained and views of Monocle Lake are AWESOME. This is indeed a hidden treasure. This campground is close to the Soo Saint Marie Locks that go between U.S. and Canada. Iroquois Lighthouse 1 mile away. Very very limited Verizonš
