Our last stop on a 6,300 mile, 3+ month trip, this older KOA is in the process of being updated. Take their advice and come in from the west to avoid a difficult turn in. Leave the same way. Fairly level gravel roads and sites. Well maintained CG. Our pull through was easy in and out, and the hookups were well located. Wifi was too slow to stream anything.

We stayed at the campground as an overnight stop on our way to Mississippi. The couple that run the campground could not have been nicer. They offered free playing cards and Koozies and coffee and a place to get out of the heat! We would stay here again!

Management was friendly and helpful. The restrooms near our site were under construction, and the WiFi was very weak, but overall, my stay was good.

Montgomery KOA Journey went above and beyond when our generator died while we were traveling with dogs in 100 degree heat. I called from 12 miles away and they were ready for us when we got there. The campground is clean and very well maintained, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

This campground is absolutely amazing! The host takes incredible care of the property—it’s spotless, safe, and the amenities are in top-notch condition. The grounds are vast, giving plenty of space to explore and relax, and the people here are some of the nicest I’ve met. There’s a gorgeous hiking trail right on the property, perfect for nature lovers. Plus, it’s located in the nicest part of Montgomery, just 10 minutes from major stores like Target and Walmart. I originally planned to stay for 2 weeks but ended up staying for 2 months—I loved it that much! Highly recommend!

First off , staff was very nice. The campground itself is a hot mess. Our site was level, a nice fire pit, and that. Was. It. Couldn’t find the office, it was in an unmarked Bldg. Couldn’t find the dumpster, quite a ways from our site. Bathrooms were scary dark at night, did not use. Grounds were kept, except around long-termers , and there were several. There was a lot of glass on the ground near the dumpster, around a tree…I was terrified when my dogs ran to the tree. We were booked for 2 nights, left after 1. Did not ask for a refund, it was our choice to leave. It needs a lot of work, but the staff was A+. Don’t know the history, so can only critique on what we saw.

Very peaceful campground. Nice pull through sites. Owner Kirk was awesome. Our vehicle broke down so we stayed longer than expected. He held our site until the vehicle was fixed. He gave us a ride to pick up supplies and was more than helpful through our ordeal.
