Moonshine Creek Campground

This is a beautiful secluded campground nestled in a holler with a very nice creek running right through it. It seems like iit is almost all booked up most of the time. Lots of trees and natural funa. However the sites were small only about 20ft wide and you were watched by owners constantly to make sure you followed their numerous rules. I felt very oppressed and could not relax. Of a good note: the bath house was one of the best I’ve seen.

We camped in a tent here. We stayed in the "overlook" site. I have been camping all of my life. This campground is easily one of the nicest that I've ever camped in. It was quiet and peaceful. The bath house is one of the best I've ever seen and clean. We walked the whole campground to check it out. The RV sites, most of them, are right on the stream. Many of the tent sites are also on the creek/stream. There are railroad tracks that run past one side of the campground but, a train never went by. There are some beautiful tent sites on that side of the campground but, they are small. We have a 10 person tent. I'm pretty sure that it would never fit on these sites. But, they are so nice I'd be willing to bring a smaller tent to enjoy the privacy and trees.

This is a great campsite for families to come, relax, and enjoy nature. We have used the tent sites twice now, and we definitely plan to use the small cabins in the future. They have made a lot of little upgrades since last time we came. There are some nice walking areas, a dog field for dogs to run around, and several quaint, quiet spots to sit and enjoy the creek or their small ponds. The staff have always been friendly, and the facilities are always very clean compared to other camp locations.

WOW what an amazing and relaxing place! This is our new favorite campground! Such a quiet place nestled away in a valley along a creek in the mountains... what more could you ask for. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Camping along a creek, sitting for hours next to it soothing sounds is so relaxing. So whether you need a relaxing weekend or a beautiful place to stay to explore the area, this is a the place! We came here to stay for the weekend and changed our Tavel plans for next year to spend more time here.

Nice campground! Sites are close together. Beautiful scenery! Only stayed 1 night, didn't have any issues. I didn't use the yoga studio but thought that was a nice addition for those who take advantage. The bath house was spacious and clean!

Have you ever found the absolute best place to camp, but you don't want to tell people because then everyone will go there? That is Moonshine Creek. If you are looking for a peaceful, tranquil, lush, happy space with beautifully curated grounds which still manage to blend perfectly into the mountain scenery, this is the place! How could it get better? The staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Schedule a stay, you won't be disappointed.

One of the nicest campgrounds we have been to. Creek runs throughout the property with beautiful small waterfalls. Bath house is immaculate. It didn’t matter when you walked in there, they were always spotless. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Interestingly, my facebook memory showed we were here exactly 8 years ago. We definitely won’t wait that long to come back.

We were looking for a campground after our "go to" place was impacted by Helene. Moonshine is a great place to camp for tent and RV campers. We got a tent spot next to the creek. Though the camp spots are close, we felt pretty private. The creek creates a wonderful white noise to muffle any neighbor noise. The bathroom and bathhouse are clean and well maintained. The staff is professional, helpful and overall lovely. The main thing is the CREEK! It is well maintained and simply stunning. We will go back. P.S. If you are looking for a KOA/ Disney campground, this is not it. It is a camper's campground where people, like hikers and those who want to enjoy the natural beauty of the area, go.

Awesome campground for any pull behind or tent camping. I can promise you won’t find a nicer more spacious bathhouse. Tile everything! Very quiet and shaded spots. The staff was more than accommodating and very knowledgeable about their jobs. If you’re new to pulling a camper, don’t worry. They are pros at helping you back in. You won’t find any better.

My Sister and my husband have stayed here for years. We would rent 2 lots from one year to the next. Always Labor Day weekend. Last year my father- in-law passed away 2 days before we were booked to be there. I called and ask if we could reschedule for later date or even for this year 2022 and I was told no with a very hateful attitude..we have rules she said. Needless to say we will never return. I hate it too because our families loved it there.

I cannot say enough good things about this campground! This was our second time here. It was just as good as our first time! These are some of the nicest people I have ever met. It’s so peaceful and quiet. I just wish you were open year round. We do a lot of our camping during off season, none of the other campgrounds we have stayed at in the area even compare to this one.

Lovely serving with a stream to provide soothing background noise. Everyone there was great!
