Our stay last week was fantastic! The camping sites are large with plenty of foliage between them for added privacy. It is a great park for families with lots to do including swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and hiking. There is also a geological center at the ranger station to learn about agates and other rocks found in the area. The campground host, Joy, was AMAZING when we had a reservation issue. What a tremendous asset she is to the park! The little town of Moose Lake is less than a 10 minute drive away with everything you could need (except for a big box store). We will definitely be returning!

Not a bad little state park. Great campground. Plenty of picnic spots and ample room for bigger crowds. Lake perfect for fishing bass and crappie. Great Lake to kayak or even canoe. There is a sandy beach you can swim at .

We have been in Minnesota for over five weeks, and we have visited 13 of the 64 state parks so far. All of them have been jewells, and Moose Lake State Park is no exception. The visitor center has the best geology exhibit that I've ever visited (and I've been to a lot). The timeline exhibit and the specimens of rocks and minerals on display are dazzling. This truly is worth the stop to see this. The park is beautiful. We did a 2 mile hike around Wildlife Pond. Don't pass up seeing this park. Even if you only have time to visit the visitor center. The staff on hand was friendly and helpful with our questions.

Hiking, biking, camping, learning about agates, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming are all great activities you can do at Moose Lake State Park. This is a great place for families or anyone who wants to enjoy natural surroundings, peace and beauty in a safe and serene state park. Staff and Park hosts were very helpful and friendly. Every space was clean and well-maintained. There were very few people camping when we arrive on a Wednesday. This is a great campground to avoid crowds. We would definitely stay here again. It is not far to get to Jay Cooke and Banning State Parks as well. We especially enjoyed access to the Willard Munger Trail. It is so convenient to have quick access to Moose Lake for supplies or food.

Moose Lake State Park is a solid state park with well maintained trails, a great beach and picnic area, great campsites, excellent fishing and boating on a fairly large lake, and great nature all around you. As far as Minnesota state parks go, it's not one of the more exciting or unique parks that the state has to offer. The trails are easy hiking with nicely maintained and wide open paths, but I prefer the trails in parks that are a little bit less accessible and have some difficulty and terrain changes. This is a great park if you have little kids and a stroller. The fish is pretty top notch here too.
