A really well laid out State Park. Lake access at many points. Quite a few picnic areas. Great kayaking experience on the no wake lake.

Our annual Airstream group meets here in early summer and have been meeting here 1-2x per year going on 21 years this year. The campground hosts are great, same faces each year. Park is very clean and has the state has recently spent some money on the park fixing the roads, electric and the park overall. I highly recommend this campground. One note, there are no water hookups for the campsites, but more of a group faucet centrally located. Bring a good filter as there has been sediment in the water that has clogged up filters, but as we go in fully loaded with water, a week is not a problem and we for sure use the electric hookups due to the 90+ degrees.

Such a nice State Park! Very well upkeep, clean, and beautiful! Restrooms are very clean! Nice lake to kayak or canoe. Decent fishing for Bluegill, catfish, and bass. Very nice restaurant on site with outdoor seating if desired. Lots of beautiful old Oak trees And Cypress trees.

Hiked by walking the road/loop around Dawson Lake today, the trails on the Southwest end were too muddy. This is a really pretty hike when the trees are green. The restaurant is closed during the winter months. A nice loop if you prefer pavement instead of dirt trails for mobility concerns.
