Mesa Verde has spectacular views. The campground views and sites are beautiful. However, for the price we paid for a tent site ($60), the bathrooms should have been updated and clean. However a toilet in the women's bathroom was leaking water all over the floor (there were only two stalls) and the sink did not work properly and was not clean (the loop had many vacant sites - it was not a busy night). Not sure what the campground is doing with all the money, but it should be invested in updating their bathroom facilities and keeping them clean.

There is plenty to do and see inside the park while you’re staying at this campground! I wouldn’t want to come and tour the Mesa Verde ruins without staying a night or two. The store and showers were so convenient from the tent loop. We found a spacious spot, but some are very close together. It was the best little community! Can’t wait to come back.

The best part about the camp sight was the location, it was great being on Mesa Verde. We were tent camping and the facilities were not good. The bathroom didn’t have paper towels or a hand dryer and didn’t have soap in the men’s room. The potable water didn’t work and the facilities were generally in need of some maintenance. The staff didn’t fix the problems when I brought them up their attention. The showers were nice and they had plenty of washers and dryers. The pancake breakfast was good, unfortunately they only had one person working so it took a long time to get food and we couldn’t get free refills on our unlimited pancake breakfast.

We stayed here as a last minute overnight stop during July. The campground was not very busy and we got to pick our site once we arrived. Some sites have some shade and many do not. We found a really cool spot surrounded by trees and enjoyed a peaceful night. It's great to be inside the park and it was very quiet. A nice surprise compared to most national park campgrounds. Just be aware many sites are small and some were looking a little overgrown with tall grass. All in all a great spot to stay for checking out Mesa Verde.

We camped at the Morefield Campground while visiting the Mesa Verde National Park. The campgrounds were located inside the park about 4 miles from the park entrance. Our campsite was fairly level gravel pad with a picnic table and fire ring. The site was mostly open with little to no shade. We were assigned our site when we arrived and had no choice in sites. We stayed 2 nights on the Ute Loop. We did have full hookups including clean 30 amp power but had little to no cell service at our campsite. The campground was right around the corner from the service center which housed the camp office / store, shower facilities, laundry mat, a gas station and cafe. We were able to get cell service at the service center. The campground was a great hub for visiting the sites in the park. Not the best kept park but served our purpose. We did have a clean restroom facility with running water close to our site. We did see a lot of mule deer grazing throughout the campground.

At $32 per basic site, it is severely overpriced. I've camped at many campgrounds, including at National Parks and have never paid such prices. Bottom line is, no basic site is worth more than $15-18 and that value comes mainly from convenience.

Beautiful area, nice campground. Campground has a large shower block 20+, flush toilets throughout with sinks, small store (for tourists, camping) cafe, gas station and dump station. Unique, well spaced sites that includes a good flat spot, table, fire ring and a anti animal metal food storage box. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the shower drains exceptionally slow. So much so that I was literally ankle deep when I finished my shower.

We took our vintage trailer and 3 dogs for a 2 night stay. Loved the campsites! Well groomed and super clean. Restrooms were close and clean, with flush toilets and running water. Met some nice people and had an amazing time. We'll be back next year.

During the summer, the "feels-like" temperature is a good 10-15 degrees higher than the air temp, try to find a campsite with shade. There is a free public shower near where you check in for camping, which is walking distance from most of the tent-only campsites - highly recommended! This is the nearest campsite for seeing the cliff dwellings, but still a 30 minute drive. Lots of potable water pumps around the campsite. I think every campsite has a giant bear box to store food and scented items. Fun experience!

The sites are okay...nothing great though (compared to all the other state & national park's that we have been to).
