We were visiting Morro Bay for several days before Thanksgiving and hiked up to Black Hills lookout from the lower trailhead. We went through Morro Bay State Park Campground which was spacious.

The campsites are good sized. Showers are available and a dollar will get you two shower coins with each good for three minutes

I came to this campground over 40 years ago, with family and friends and I could never get enough of it... so much peace and tranquility at this campground. I always get drawn back..

Nice campground , FAIRLY flat RV pads , nice fire rings, most have masonry BBQ pits, mostly quiet at night, at least the nights we were there. Walking distance to the south marina which is more of a sanctuary. There is a great little restaurant in the harbor. Dog friendly. Lots of sooty type dirt around the campground, but we put a rug out that pretty much kept us from tracking the soil into the RV. There are very few full hook-up site, but there is a dump station. Fill your water tanks elsewhere, as there was no portable water available for filling.

This is a very popular campground. The campsites are nice. And there's good access to the beach and harbor. The restrooms are clean and have showers as well.

Would never camp here again. The bathrooms are fine, they have showers and restrooms and washing up stations. The whole camp ground is dirt/ dirty loose sand. There is no separation between camp sites, no privacy what so ever, no nature, just dirty. There is no quiet hours, the place was a party all night long. All our neighbors had like 4-6 tents per site, cars were everywhere. There was loud music and just yelling and parting. Nothing wrong with having a good time but midnight at a family camp ground with crazy music is a bit much. Car alarms were going off. We’re packed in so tight I couldn’t sleep cuz of the dude at the next camp site snoring. It was just not peaceful or relaxing experience. I would not be back here again. Possibly the worst night of camping I’ve ever had

They gave away one of our campsites, but thankfully they were able to give us a different pair that was more secluded. The main areas were crowded so it was nice to be away. I liked the shade that the trees provided and they cleaned the bathrooms basically everyday.

If you are looking for a serene camping experience this isn't it. No water views, no privacy, close spots, lots of people. Close to boat launch and park amenities. Our site #119 was not at all level despite being in essential a parking lot. If you are looking for conveniences this is it but definitely not a "camping" experience.

Great location, clean. But $50/night "full hook ups" have no sewer,no wifi, $4 showers, no laundry. Campground is like a tightly packed parking lot by with a few low shrubs. Update: Dump station now charges $10 per use.

Small town, beautiful views, and pretty drives around here. Our new favorite spot.

A good family vibe. Clean restrooms, flush toilets, showers. Over 100 campsites some with electric and water. Quiet!

Generator apocalypse! This site would be nice if not for the constant generator noise. State parks should either put in rv hookups or ban generator use. Totally unpleasant in the evenings. Completely unnecessary with current battery and solar technology. The front gate person was nice so there is an extra star for them.
