I haven’t been here since I was a child, but it’s still so peaceful and beautiful. We hiked around the top of the mountain on a warm day in November. Leaves were changing color and the view was lovely. Lots of people brought food to eat on the picnic tables and there was a charming cafe with hot chocolate too. I’ll definitely be back to check out some of the trails. 👍✨

A beautiful place for an autumn getaway! 🍂 Its perfect for families and kids especially if you prefer easy scenic spots instead of long hikes. You can drive all the way to the highest viewpoint which makes it super convenient. The area also has grills, picnic tables, and peaceful surroundings great for lunch and family photos. Highly recommended for a calm weekend trip..

Visited Morrow Mountain State Park on October 18 to see the fall colors, and it was such a nice experience! 🍁 The fall colors were beautiful, and the trails were clean and easy to walk. It’s a peaceful place to spend time with family or friends. You can also do a charcoal BBQ there, and there’s plenty of parking available. Overall, a great spot to enjoy nature and the fall season.

The trail was really nice to give that secluded feeling I strive for. It was a smaller size loop and there are other options. One has a backpack campsite I really wanna use someday. Had a few lovely views....rare flowers here and there....don't be in such a hurry .. 💕

Well maintained areas, breath taking views. The bathrooms could use a little attention. They were mostly clean just grungy looking. Would totally go back. They have a cute little snack and drink hut but please note that it is Cash Only. They have picnic tables and park grills too!

Drive to the top of the mountain to check out the scenic views. Very nice restrooms and lots of parking up there. If you go during the week it's very quiet. Great walking trails and views throughout. Various trails, we did 2 to 4+ mile moderate hike and scenic lookout along the river. Plan on an hour or three. Doctor Kron homestead was also very cool to check out.

We went for boating and swimming—it was fun and relaxing. Some friends were camping, and the site looked nice, so I’ll try that next time. There’s no food nearby, so we had to drive to Albemarle. Also, there’s no mobile signal in many areas, which made it hard to find and meet friends. The water was okay but not very clear. Kayak rentals cost $10 per hour Overall, it’s a peaceful spot for outdoor fun.

The first time we visited it was in winter and we missed the lake area which is close to the campground. Now, we have just visited in summer time and we were able to see the lake which is closed to the campground. The views and experience is a totally different feeling. I really recommend visiting this park if you have the chance. There is plenty of things to do, hiking 🥾, fishing 🎣, bird 🐦 watching, horse 🐴 riding, camping 🏕️, picnic 🧺 and even to spend a day just relaxing 😌 it does not have a price.

Always a quality experience in a beautiful, strange, unique & natural space, Morrow Mountain is an enjoyable and accessible state park for all. It will take many visits to learn all there is to know about this land, water, creeks and mountains-which we've been visiting for the past 2 decades. I.E. We just found out about the geology history of the rock mines and the uniqueness of the area. Of course it is part of the oldest mountain range in the N. America. Crazy! I don't want to tell anyone about this great place so it doesn't get over crowded, so that's just between you and me. Coffee☕: 5/5. The caffine here comes in a couple of sizes: forested mtn lake vistas, shaded quiet creek groves and BYO-Coffee over a camp fire sized cups. Highly recommended. Renew & refind yourself in this forest. -Monty “It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.” - Robert Louis Stevenson
