Very nice park run by some nice people. We picked a spot that the map showed was on the water, but it was definitely not. The lake has receded a ton and it was just a swampy field near us. The lake was a 1/8 mile up the road. Not bad... But not what was shown. I realize lakes are receding, but this has obviously been this way for years. Time to update the map. I'll still be back, just with lower expectations. (The picture included is where the lake once was, and the map shows it still is (site 209).

This is a beautiful location with nice, large fish. While we were there the nice gentleman next to us pulled out a 24" channel cat and a 12" croppie. Sadly, all we caught was algae, but given the time of year we could have expected that. People fishing out of boats were catching consistently large bass. Mosquito Creek State Park gets four sets of thumbs up. :)

Very pretty and relaxing little lake. Very lively on nice days, full of families and individuals spending their own time in nature. Lots of different birds you'll see here.
