We absolutely LOVED staying at this campground! The drive seems long, because it's a small country road...but so worth the 5.5 miles from the highway! It's serene, tranquil, clean, well-kept and the owners are just the sweetest! WE WILL BE BACK!

My husband, two kids and i travel in our 5th wheel camper and we stayed here for 5.5 months. Its a beautiful, quiet campground and we enjoyed our stay. The sites are spacious and the park is well maintained. There are rules, but that is why its so peaceful. Everyone is so friendly there and Rick and Barb (the owners) soon became like family. If you stay here, definitely kayak the river and visit the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park! We enjoyed going into the little town of Cumberland Gap for dinner at 19Nineteen and make sure you stop by Hillfolk for some essential oils and natural remedies.

What a hidden gem. This campground is off the beaten path and worth the drive in. All sites have a river view and there is a lot of space between sites. We met the owner and he is delightful to talk with. The wifi can be a bit spotty but they are working on it. Relaxing, watching the river flow, listening to the birds is why we camp. Not to be on our devices.

Absolutely the best campground we have ever stayed! Our camp hosts Barbara and Rick have shared their little slice of heaven with us! They put a great deal of thought and effort into this park, very well laid out, beautiful, and looks like it has been manicured, which it is. It’s so quiet, the night sky is beautiful and clear. The river is clear and cold, we didn’t fish but those who were had some good ones. We enjoyed just sitting on the riverbank listening to the running water and watching the abundant wildlife. They do have rules, read them and abide by them, that’s THE reason this little private park is so great. I have never felt safer anywhere! There are many full time residents, they too are great and friendly people, really enjoyed visiting with several of them. The road to the park is narrow but is worth the trouble, it isn’t very busy and we navigated it with no issues. That road is not theirs and is beyond their control. The locals will move over or back up if needed. Will we be back? Absolutely! Thank you Barbara & Rick for the hospitality! For those of you who plan to visit, you’ll be glad you did. Abide by the rules, it’s not a party venue, enjoy this little slice of heaven!

I have not been to this site. I am however an avid camper. It will probably be the next place I camp. I came to read the reviews, seemingly there are several unsatisfied customers. That their reviews make the campgrounds seem very off putting. However, reading the owner's response makes it evident the people can not obey simple rules and nothing the owners have done, that I've read, seem unreasonable. It's common sense not to have a pet who is attacking other campers unleashed. Nor is it hard to keep your site free of trash and clutter or simply put trash in a bag, I mean you do it at home, I would hope. I live very very close to here, I'm aware it's a clean site. The rules I would assume keep it that way.

Very beautiful place to get away and everyone is truly great folks and have always treated us so well and helped us several times, beautiful huge sites with full hookups, all sights have great views, the only downside would be the road in but it's nothing once you see the how great the campground is, very much worth the drive down the little road! Also to add, yall that has wrote these nasty reviews, if you'd use your common sense that the good Lord gave ya, you wouldnt have gotten evicted or called down, I know multiple times theres been VERY AGRESSIVE dogs and I was nervous to walk by because I've been attacked by dogs several times in my life and was about killed when I was young (never attacked at this campground) but I noticed that the campground owners (Mr. Rick and Mrs. Barbra put a stop to this awful behavior of the vicious dogs immediately which I highly appreciate and about the no out door light policy while your away is not unreasinable! Just do what you are asked any your stay will be pleasant and you'll appreciate that the rules are enforced! I also would recommend this place to anyone!

We loved our stay at Mountain Pass. We were informed about the narrow road to get back in there but we had no problem. Just drive slowly and carefully. We encountered other drivers on the road but they were courteous and would back up if needed.The campsites are spacious with beautiful landscaping throughout. The rules are reasonable and we were very happy that they are enforced. It's a wonderful, quiet campground at the top of our list of favorites. Highly recommend! Denis Hodson
